The only difference I see between my stock FA and the one with anti-dazzle removed is the fact that 5AP is not listed. Everything else seems to be the same.

Here's a diff of my saved FA in March vs today. Only the date has changed but today has additional 8TL. In the 11/2019.70 release notes there is a mention about DRL so could this be it?

Interesting.... mind does not have 8TL.

Yep that's what I'd expect as the FA is I-step agnostic. That said, the options and time/date stamps can change.

Build can be changed as well, but only recommend for offline esys testing purposes.

It has updated the car's FA as part of the OTA upgrade to 11/2019.70. Looks like it added 8TL which adds the extra DRL codes.

It's an odd approach as they normally just update the codes using the cafd underlying boolean code.

What do you see when you do a VIN lookup using mdecoder? Any mention of 8TL or just your stock FA option codes.

No 8TL (or S8TL) in mdecoder, only S8TM (?). Not sure what this means or whether I left 8TL before I get upgraded to 11/2019.70. But, I thought coding will be lost with a release update.

When your car is upgraded, each target ECU is first programmed to the new i-step version, and then VO Coded using the car FA to determine what codes are set. It's during the VO Code that your FDL coding is wiped.

I can't be certain where 8TL came from. If you didn't add it manually, and its not part of your original factory order, then the assumption has to be that it was added during an i-step upgrade.

Yes I agree with ifr; originally I had 8TN in my FA and when I got the 3/2020.xx upgrade, my DRL acts as 8TL (front and back on) without adding 8TL to my FA, when I asked the agent for this behaviour change he replied that it is a new security requirement.

I just keep a copy on my computer.

If someone did that and they think its the reason why the OTA isn't coming I suppose you can write the old FA back to the car. If you don't code the ECUs after you do that, you shouldn't lose your VO coding.

mandomedic122 had the same 07/2019.55 version and modified FA and couldn't OTA and wanted to verify my observation. Unfortunately he had some other more pressing issues with the car with the dealer upgrading his to 03/2020.xx.
This made me interested as I've been checking on my app and in the car for an update and I've never gotten one on my M340i (currently on 7/2019.55). I edited the FA back in December to remove 5AP so this made me think if that was it.

Yesterday afternoon I restored the backup FA I made before making changes and wrote it to the car. Didn't code any ECUs so technically I should still have anti-dazzle lights but I'm still seeing no updates available in the car and in the app.

Also I have an Android and I haven't heard of any users getting an OTA update with an Android phone.

Your case may be different than what Eagle and I are investigating since you're not a US spec car. I believe EU spec cars come with 8TL - not sure where Dubai falls in that category if rear DRL are mandated or not, but it sounds like they may be. In the US they are not.

You have different coding options than your FA indicates, but I doubt the OTA pre-req checker would know about that.

There are some codes that impact remote services so I guess that could be a possibility. I've changed codes that have prevented CD services from working, but seems unlikely and more likely a co-incidence.
ifr;
Where can I find the Connected Drive function entries? in which ECU module? as it used to be in HU in the earlier models but now I can not find it, can you help please.
