In general, Washington is not an area where good deals can be had. I guess that should be clarified meaning desks as good as the rest of the country. They have fairly consistently been known to offer the lowest discounts in the nation, usually in the 3-5% range. You may want to check out what you can get South of you.

Custom build or from the lot?

you can forget any discount on custom order from Seattle, Bellevue and northwest Tacoma BMW dealers. They will sell at MSRP.

From the lot, you can expect 3-7% depending upon how long the car is sitting on the lot.

But if you want 10% on the custom order then you need to go out of state OR or CA.

PM me if you are ready to pick up from OR @10%.

I think the best source for lease rates and incentives is the Edmunds forum since the information can be tailored to your location. The December MF is .00082.

Chicago area leasing

What's the best off MSRP people have seen in Chicago or the burbs? I've got one dealer offering 9% ... wondering if I can get closer to 11%

Equity from old lease

I am coming off lease of a 2018 Grand Cherokee. Based on a few online quotes, I think the trade in value is $3,000 - $4,000 more than the payoff amount. Has anyone had success with a BMW dealer offering a trade to use the equity as downpayment?

I ordered an X5 xDr40i from my long-time CA at Herb Chambers in Boston in October. They weren't willing to go above 7% pre-incentive at first, but managed to get to 8%. You may want to reach out to Boston Car Concierge (broker). Great guy and has a relationship with HC where he was getting 8% deals.

Deals in Texas

Looking for a dealer/salesman to work with on financing a 2021 BMW X5 in central Texas. I have been talking to dealers in the surrounding areas and they all want to play games that I'm growing tired of. Best offer with currently moderately trying is ~6% prior to incentives. I have been given all the good BS and the short supply statement about people are paying retail. I have bought many cares below retail but growing tired playing the email game. TIA

I have been looking for an aspirational deal to replace my wife's 2018 X5. Working with a dealer in Dallas and we are close to landing with the following:

MSRP: $81,945
Discount (incl. all eligible incentives): $11,184 (~14%)
Trade in: $35,000 (X5 sDrive with 26K miles)
Out the door price: $38,000 (includes taxes plus $340 Dealer fees/title/license)

My initial offer had an out the door offer of $34K; dealer countered with $41K and we are going to meet at the middle.

Not a unicorn deal but seemed like a decent one I can sleep at night with. I am on the fence whether I finance with the 1.9% rate or just pay outright. Leaning towards the latter.

I always ask myself the same question... Then I always fall in the "If you have the means to do so, and can buy outright, why not finance that car for the low APR and put that money to work?" I've realized that conservatively I'll make 4% on my money... It's been over 7% the last 2 car purchases.

Then again, with the way I buy cars, I should really just lease... haha

I stopped in a Houston, Texas dealership this afternoon.
My wife and I were looking at an X5 M50 - several packages ~$97k MSRP.

The sales guy asked me what my budget was ... I told him I was expecting to lease ~$1100/mo
I also explained that I have a trade [2017 X3 $26k dealership appraisal, $24k payoff]
The trade would provide a $2,000 down payment.
I asked what the payments would be for a 36/10k lease.

I understand that I will most likely have to add the sales tax into the lease because sales tax is due up front [difference between dealer price and trade] here in Texas. I estimate sales taxes ~ $2,900

He mentioned rebates of $3,500 right now.

He told me that the payments would be $1500 to $1600 per month with $6k down ... even with an excellent credit score. That would be ~$62,000 in total payments.

I asked what the residual is for that lease. He said 54% for 10k miles/year.

Is this typical of a dealership? Is my estimated monthly payment that far off?

In the beginning don't worry about what the monthly payments would be, actually it is best to not even tell them whether you are going to lease, finance, use select financing (which I would suggest as it is made for Texas and other states that are not lease friendly) or pay cash. Just work on negotiating the selling price of the vehicle. Once that is accomplished then you can get all of the fees and information on incentives for both purchasing and leasing. After that get the information, MF, RV, any additional incentives for leasing. You can also let them give you the payment amount they calculate but then go home and put all that information into a lease calculator to verify what they are telling you.

Here is some information on Select financing. https://www.passportbmw.com/BMW-Select-Financing.html

Edit: I should add that if you lease you will want to make sure they are giving you the base MF, the best site for getting lease information is the Edmunds forum. It looks like the RV for 10k is 55%. https://forums.edmunds.com/discussio...and-prices/p14

That's overly complicating things with the trade in value/rebates, etc. Ask them what the actual selling price is. Most likely they are marking up the rate and offering barely any discount.

I know what you mean. On the flip side, it is really nice to drive away with the title in hand. In some deep part of my mind, it says that I have done good professionally and the title is a physical manifestation of the good feelings.

Hey all,

I've been away for a couple years (got an F-150...wonder what I was thinking) but looking to come back.

Looking to get a 2021 X5 s40i and wondering there are any leads in the Houston area for 10% off MSRP.

I ended up in Houston with a great deal, no one even came close to 10%, everyone said $2k off and then went radio silent. One counter offer, I told them the exact deal I wanted OTD and they agreed. I drove there, everything was done, no changes to the deal, now we own a fine looking X5

As for paying it off, at 1.9% financing, money is better spent in the market. Incredible gains to be made right now, who knew all we needed was a pandemic with record unemployment?

Discounts in the St. Louis area are pretty aggressive. Just purchased a 2021 X6M.
This one just arrived at the dealer. Had a Build date of 12/11/2020

Exterior Carbon Black Metallic
Interior Cognac

The St. Louis area dealer was very aggressive and easy to deal with and basically gave me a very similar deal discount wise to what they did in November 2019.
All St. Louis dealers were equally aggressive with pricing.

The only additions to the order are winter mats and 20% tinting of the windows to match the rear window tint.

MRSP: $77,045.
Paid: $66,000.
Admin: $ 195.

I used the equity in my Durango SRT lease (about $4k) to cover all the taxes and fees of my X5 lease, just bring the offers with you and in all likelihood they'll match the best one and buy the lease out from whatever bank/credit union/etc your using and then cut you a check or use the money to take care of the OTD costs. Also be aware that they get a better deal because they don't pay the taxes like you would if trying to buy the car so try and figure out what their buyout is compared to yours.

Welcome to the forum. The discount percentages quoted are usually the pre-incentive discount from MSRP. In other words, the dealer discount before BMW incentives are taken. OTD prices are generally not posted since it varies so much by state and even within a state that comparing numbers is not really possible.

In your case, I would assume your offer is including both the dealer discount and incentives. The disc/inc percentage is over 16% which would make it a very good deal. Did they give you a breakdown of the numbers? What you would want from them is: MSRP, dealer discount, Incentives, fees and taxes.

In general, one could get the same % discount, sometimes higher, on a custom build as a vehicle off the lot.

Now is this for a 2020 or 2021 X5? That makes a big difference.
