Hi All,

Just got a production number for my x5 40. At this time, how long is it from "order received" until delivery at a Midwest dealer? My current lease ends in late July so hoping the timing works out ok. Thanks for the help!

It purely depends on what allocation your order was placed against.

It can be as quick as 4 weeks or as long as couple months. Ask your Client Advisor on what the production number is and plug it into mybmw.com.

Call BMW Genius, ask your CA, or do the f12 trick to get your production date.

Since you're in KY, your dealer should receive the vehicle 3-5 days following your prod date, and it should be ready for pickup in a business day or two.

It can be tricky I placed my order May 16 and bmw genius told me my production date is Aug 1st. So I’ll expect to take delivery by mid to late August.

Just for clarity, the F12 process will not show the production date until it reaches the Production Begins (150) status. Prior to that the CA or a call to Genius will be able to get the production week.

My vehicle will be going to a dealership in Maryland. Does it take about 3-5 days as well to get there?

That 3-5 days includes extra time for waiting for a truck. Sine that is variable it is best to not take the into account. Maryland, and Kentucky, will take a day or 2 depending on where you are at and what other stops there may be.

As far as waiting for dispatch, they try and get them out the next day but with the trucker shortage it may take a few.

I am in Maryland too, mine took 3 days after assigned carrier, and took another two or three days after arrived in dealership before my SA called me to pick it up.

My past orders have made it to Lexington, KY 2-3 days after the production date. I have a 50e order with a production date of 6/11. I’ll try to reply to this thread to update you when it gets delivered to the dealer.

Once you hit Production Begins your production date will be in the prodDate data item.

Does anyone know how long does it take to deliver a vehicle to west coast (Seattle) after production? Really curious about timelines, since it seems like it takes just 2-3 days on east coast

If all is normal and depending where in NY and other stops. I would say somewhere between June 8 and 10th.

It is available as soon as the order is entered into the system against an allocation so you should get I the same day you order or within a couple of days if they don't enter it right away. Unless the deal or broker is not passing it along, it sounds like the dealer doesn't have an allocation so you will have to wait until next month to see if you get one.

The broker said it is usually available after a few days. The broker is well known, but I am a bit skeptical at this point. On Friday, he said the production numbers are starting to trickle in.

There is no such thing as trickling in unless there is that much of a lag between him taking the orders and them being entered into the system. The allocations are given to the dealers at the same time so that isn't an issue.

My Dealer in Maryland stated he should have a production number around the 25th June. I guess that is when their allocation comes in, plus they have been working with other dealerships on trades for allocations.

Plus I made a change and removed the 4 zone comfort and heat front seats, armrest & steering wheel and added the Climate Comfort Package which was only $600 difference and included those items and 2 others heated back seats and front ventilated seats.
