New BMW X5 (G05) Colors, Leather, Trim Options for Spring 2019

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Ahhhh super excited when my F15 goes off lease this fall. I've been swooning over extended Merino in ivory white/midnight blue on the X7 and now it's coming to the X5.

From BMW Global Press Group (*Note options can be limited by region):

BMW X5: new exterior colours and leather appointments.
The range of body colour shades and leather appointments for the new BMW X5 will also be further expanded in spring 2019. The Sports Activity Vehicle will now be available with the exterior paint finishes Sophisto Grey Brilliant Effect metallic and Terra Brown metallic and BMW Individual paint finishes Ruby Black metallic, Pyrite Brown metallic, Ametrine metallic and Tanzanite Blue metallic.

A selection of additional options will help customers bring a personalised flavour to the interior of the new BMW X5. New arrivals include BMW Individual extended leather upholstery Merino in Ivory White/Midnight Blue combination and BMW Individual fine-grain Merino full leather trim in Black, Ivory White, Tartufo, Coffee and Ivory White/Midnight Blue. And from April 2019, BMW Individual interior trim strips in Fineline Black fine wood with aluminium inlays will also be available as an option.

damnit! that's the best interior color combo besides what I ordered. I love the blue/ivory!

tanzinite blue... such a nice color now I'm having second thoughts on my car

Same colors they demoed with the X7. The Merino ivory and blue interior needs to have the lower door panels in blue and blue carpet to match the dash. Black is a odd choice with this color combo. I had a similar color scheme in my last Summit with Signature leather.
I read last week that blues and and dark shades of blues are becoming very popular in luxury vehicles. Bright silver is falling out of fashion and moving into more blue hues. I dig Tanzanite Blue metallic on the M5. Will look awesome on X5 M-Sport trim with the brakes and Laser lights.

Looks like nice new color options. I have to say I'm liking what I picked out (with wife's thumbs up of course) in Phytonic Blue with Extended Ivory Merino. I don't see anything on the new spring color options that make me wish we had waited. That said, its nice to see more options coming out.

Very cool, now they just need to add a soft liner to the door pockets instead of crappy hard plastic, and the X5 will actually have a respectable interior.

I thought I was the only one annoyed by this. I feel normal again. Thanks.

Not at all. It was one of the first things I noticed about the new X5, and it is completely unacceptable in a car that exceeds $100k. I mean, they are giving us the option for a full merino interior and Alcantara headliner, but the door pockets are the same as a Chevy Aveo. What gives? It's totally inconsistent and shows a lack of attention to detail, a disdain for the customer, or a bit of both. BMW should be embarrassed, and I'm sure many of the employees who worked to design the new X5 are. I'm actually undecided on whether I would buy the car over this very issue. I've never had hard door pockets on a car costing this much. My E92 335, E70 X5 and my current 550 all had soft materials.

When I ordered the G05, I frankly didn't notice. I agree that its not becoming of a car of this price range and BMW should know better. On the other hand, the G05 is so brilliant otherwise, I wouldn't consider changing my decision over such a minor (in the scheme of things) design flaw.

If my G05 arrives with no liner in the door pockets, I'll gladly make my own and carry on.

The blue and ivory interior does look lovely, but I still couldn't live with the ivory bits, my car gets used off-road too much to be any sort of practical option!

The option of that blue only with ivory stitching would be awesome though!!!

I love Ametrine metallic though, and that box could well get ticked late next year on the order form, when (if) I change to a G05

My thought too. May look good at first blush, but expect I would eventually come to wish I had gone with a different interior.

I just checked on mine. My lower door panels are textured soft touch and so is the inner bottle openings. Fully finished extremely well. The rear doors are the same. It’s as finished as my last A8 and certainly better than my wife’s current A4 which has less soft touch in these areas. Not sure what you mean hard plastic? Other than the inside panels lined with leather instead of soft touch, I am not sure what’s else BMW could do to make it more upscale. Perhaps there are two lower panel designs or BMW already addressed the issue???

Hmm, so far every new X5 I have seen has had hard plastic door pockets with no soft touch lining. Which country are you in?

Beat me to it. I remeber watching a lot of YouTube X5 videos and I do recal someone mentioning different door pocket designs. Maybe it was Doug that brought it up?? I am ocd about build quality and there is nothing I would find low rent in the entire interior. It feels like a $100k+ vehicle. I could pick apart the Cayenne S a lot more on issues like these and I am a Porsche guy. In the grand scheme of enjoyment of the vehicle, probably won’t matter which door pockets you have.

I don’t think BMW can do light color metallics with all the advanced exterior monitoring tech.

A super dark gray, a super dark blue. These new colors are just as bad as the current offerings. At least give us space gray back, or something closer to Long Beach or Estoril Blue.

I am really struggling with these color options. They are really dampening my excitement for the G05

Good to know! The 50i is on my shopping list. I'll have to check one out. Haven't seen one in person yet, just the 40i.

Are door pockets different between 40i and 50i? My 40i has plastic pockets too and I wish it was different but it doesn't bother me too much
