"At the dealership" head fake.

The online tracker tells me the car has arrived at the dealership, as of Feb 7th. My salesman says sorry, not there yet. Scheduled to be there 11th or 12th.

Serious head fake from bmwusa tracker.

That happened to me, it's basically enroute and should be there faster than you think

Opposite is more common; the site would indicate in transit for 2-3 days after it has reached the Dealership!

Same thing happened with mine. Said it arrived at the dealership on a Saturday but didn't actually arrive until the next Wednesday. Someone said that is caused by the paperwork shipping separately from the vehicle and it is the paperwork that is tracked. Not sure I buy that but it is a theory I guess.

Hogwash. The paperwork is shipped with the vehicle. If the dealer received the keys (fobs) with the vehicle, then he received the paperwork.
Plain and simple.

That is how I thought it worked but some here, or another forum, posted that scenario.
