I test drove an artic and actually was thinking about it, but it's too dark and actually looked blue to me. The sophisto is too dark. I'd like something more "mid-grey", like the Glacier Silver Metallic on the '18 but a tad darker than that. I can't find a car off the top of my head that has it, but I'm pretty sure Infiniti has one.

What about options like the sky lounge and display key? Are these going to be offered similar to the x7?

Would you say it is lighter than Phytonic Blue? (which I personally consider too dark) |

However, Tesla just doesn't really care about these things in terms of the normal process of testing cars for every scenario before they go on sale. They put stuff out there and see if it works. They are also happy to cross the line from optimism to fraud (e.g. selling "Full Self Driving" and pretending the only reason it doesn't work is because of regulatory approval, not the more accurate reason of the technology not actually existing on Tesla cars). I would strongly disagree that they have more advanced driver tech as well. They have more advanced hype about their driver tech, but in the real world it's just another variation of the advanced cruise control that many manufacturers have, all of which are similar degrees of being a million miles away from any kind of autonomous driving. In some ways I'd even argue it is much less advanced. For example, because of Elon Musk's arrogance, they insist on using cameras for their blind spot monitoring (just released last year, even though several economy cars have had a better radar-based system for years). In practice, this system is terrible, since it's very poorly located (you have to look at the dashboard to see the blind spot warning) and doesn't give you nearly as much advance warning of a car further back in your blind spot. As you'll see from my signature, I had a Model S 100D, and in many ways it was a fantastic car. But oddly enough I found that, the powertrain aside, it felt extremely dated. No-one can touch Tesla yet on a truly usable electric car that can be driven almost like a normal car, because no-one else has the supercharger network. But in every other respect, the Model S feels cheap and sorely in need of an update. I recently took a look at a friend's Model 3, and I just don't think I could live with the cheap feel and poor build quality.

that's a shame. Phytonic is too dark for me. it looks ok in bright sun, but any other weather it looks dark and dull (to me). I really wanted a blue X5 this time. Had Alpine White and Space Gray. Arctic Gray is too dark for my taste also, but may be the best bad option I have.

I saw Sophisto Gray in person for the first time this weekend and I think it's going to look really good on the X5. Especially with the M-sport package. Look forward to seeing it.
