Exactly. Why not put that trade in towards finance? You don't qualify for the EV tax credit on a lease... Gigantic waste.

On another note, we owned a 2021 Bolt, loved the convenience of the EV but hated the car. Wife told me she wants to get another one, either the Ioniq, EV6, or maybe even the Audi Q4 e-tron. The market is garbage right now so I told her we would have to wait. Kia dealer near me has a $7000 "adjustment" on their $42k EV6... I will ALWAYS say this, dealers should cease to exist. Garbage garbage garbage.

IMO it's not specifically about Kia. They definitely make some fine cars now. It's just a matter of principle. Kia is still a mainstream automaker. But that's just me, I don't believe in paying an ADM for any car. I could only see the justification for some special edition 911 GT3 variant as those cars may actually appreciate in value over time.

Paying ADM for a Kia? Just making the depreciation hit even worse.

Nah, it's because I'm not paying ADM for a fuckin KIA, full stop. I don't care what "many" people are paying. I'm speaking for myself and like I said, I would never pay ADM for a KIA, no chance.

Same with those European taxi-car companies, BMW and Mercedes.

Well… Wife drove one and fell in love. Drove an hour to a dealer with a very small ADM, they gave us $1000 more than we owed on our current SUV, and now we have an interstellar grey EV6 Wind sitting in the driveway. Thing is absolutely awesome. Only annoying part is they don’t come with a charger, so I had to order one online.

Love this thing so far. Level 1 charger takes FOREVER, car was at 40% battery, and for it to reach 100% it’ll need to charge for 33 hours, barely hitting 1.8 kW. Have someone coming by Tuesday to swap a non-functioning 20a 220v to a 40a 240v, should be able to charge on 32a. What’s also neat is since we signed up for the Kia app, we got 1000 free kWh of DC fast charging.

Only thing I dislike about the car: For AA or CarPlay, phone needs to be wired (which I prefer over wireless), but there’s no good spot to store your phone. USB is on the floor, wireless charger would be a good spot for the phone, but I’d have to turn the pad off… Don’t like leaving it in the cup holder, or the cubby on the floor.

Looks great! I've been seeing these and the Ioniq5's a bit around town, should be a good seller for Hyundai/Kia.

I am curious about the range, I noticed people say it's like half of what they advertise.....

No it's awesome. Granted we only have 200 miles on it currently, but I unplugged it this morning at 91% and it was showing over 300 miles of range. When we left the dealer it was like 140 miles of range, 49 mile trip back home, still showed over 100 miles. Averaging just over 4 miles per kW, so with a 77.4 kWh battery that would be ~320 miles of range from full to E.

Another annoying thing I've found. Car didn't come with a charger so I had to order one, only have a 220 in the garage at the moment, so I got one that'll do 16A on 220 OR 8A on 110. Charger kept giving me error messages, I tried every single outlet in my garage and a few outside, same result. Started looking through the settings in the car and I found one for "charging current," which defaults to "maximum." I dropped it to "reduced" (there is also a minimum) and that fixed my issue. I guess the car was requesting too much amperage and the charger didn't like it? LOTS of people are having this "issue" on forums and FB groups.

Do you get interior trim rattles when driving on a bad road? What about wind noise level when driving on a highway? Thanks in advance!

Was looking at Toyota Hybrid as another option for me....nope, can't buy it, zero availability with options that I like (at local dealers and entire cars.com). What a great time we live in.......

Garage List
You definitely want a L2 charger. Even with our Volt with only 50mi battery range the L2 is a game changer. Luckily the L1 that Chevy provides can be modified to run 240 with just a plug adapter so I have L2 at our vacation home and a Clipper Creek at the house.

Which, BTW, I would highly recommend Clipper Creek, great unit.

Nope, only have about 400 miles on it but no rattles or anything. The car is so quiet in the cabin it's insane, under 50 you can't hear anything. Over that you get a bit of wind noise, but it's the quietest car I've ever been in. So smooth too, the wheelbase is the same as the Telluride, so it just glides over everything.

I didn't see it mentioned here at all. Just wanted to add some clarity. The thread is titled EV6 GT but y'all are talking about the GT-Line. These are two different vehicles and the GT isn't out yet. The GT-Line is an appearance package along with some additional tech features and 225HP or 321HP depending RWD or AWD. The GT is a performance vehicle with AWD only and 576HP.

That said, if you're considering getting an EV6, do it. I absolutely love mine.

I am extremely impressed with this vehicle I think it really is the true wave of the future even over the Tesla. However I’m going to wait about a year because I’m still not totally trusting of Kia/Hyundai, they are having a huge recall right now on their ICE four cylinder engines across their line. In addition to the other designs discrepancies that come up with a brand new technology/build like the electric cars. But kudos to them, this car is light years ahead of anything else out there including the new Mustang, in my opinion.

One of the reasons I really like the EV6 is something so simple, it has a sunroof with a real sunshade! Why the hell is this such a rare feature on any EV? I've only seen an openable sunroof and shade on this car and the EQS, everything else features some stupid tinted glass roof that doesn't open and doesn't block out enough sun, or is a pain in the ass to replace when damaged (Tesla, Lucid).

the GT definitely seems like an impressive performer. The lease for the GT-line is about 820/mo, 36 month, 10k miles/year ~ basically 32k to rent it for 3 years.
