Welcome to the forum. You should have received your production number a few days after you ordered at the latest if they had an allocation for you. As soon as the order is entered into the system against an allocation the production number is available. It sounds like you were just put into the order bank and will get an allocation in a future month. I would suggest calling your CA and asking what the status is.

My status changed from "awaiting carrier" to "at the port" this afternoon

Also, the dealer contacted me this afternoon (which I did not expect to be that timely) and informed me that I should be able to pick up my car in a week. The dealership is in NY. My birthday is Sunday 6/11 so timing is great...could not have planned it better myself back in April.

My birthday is 6/12 and I have a week 24 50e build that was initially given a 6/11 production date but moved up to 6/10 today. Perhaps I’ll have mine within my birthday week.

Are you by chance also waiting for 50e? Wondering if there is something quality related stops delivery recently as there is quite a lot of complaints on drivetrain malfunction

Mine is a 50e. I think is just driver issues. If it were something else, assume it would sit in QC pending resolution.

I am in California and usually it takes 1-3 days for car to be released to rail carrier.

I see you guys from east coast - also waiting for >6 days. This make me suspect if there is something delaying all 50e altogether? I see folks with other model mostly already have car shipped out days ago.

Mine is going to MD too and I think I read somewhere that it's 2-3 days from the factory to MD... but I could be wrong on that

Back in early 2021 my X5 said dispatched on Feb 24th and the dealership got it late afternoon on the 26th in North NJ

My production date is also the 8th and going to a dealer in Maryland. Hopefully I can pick it up by Monday!

No, that is not the case. As mentioned, you would be held in QC and not waiting for a carrier.

My vehicle is showing the 9th as the prod date now too. It was originally the 10th.

KT_OH, could you check with your SA? According to genius, mine was released to carrier on May31st itself, with expected delivery to Ohio on June 4th. They don’t see any other updates. It is probably sitting on a truck waiting for a full load before they drive up north.
