Whenever products evolve there will be people that liked it better the old way and would rather maintain the status quo. I remember when I bought my first new car, I didn't want electric windows, locks etc. because I was young and poor so in my mind it was more to go wrong and cost me more now and money for something I could do manually. People get used to certain things and are resistant to change which is neither right or wrong. The older you get, the more this happens...I still have zero use for these new AI tools - I can summarize my own emails, thank you lol
I'm still not a fan of getting rid of all manual controls in favor of their screen based facsimiles but I do like the big screens and being able to customize the look, etc. One reason I lease is I like a change every few years so being able to alter my in car experience without actually getting a new vehicle is nice. I'm also a tech nerd so continually chasing the new gadgets. There are pros and cons to each with hopefully the majority falling on the former. When they stop offering new meaningful features, I'll feel less inclined to change as often. The new iPhone had zero new feature appeal to me (it gets less and less with every iteration) so I didn't upgrade which is different for me as usually I get the new version most years. To me, the "driving experience" is more about the feel of the drive and performance when driving for fun. When I'm in that driving zone, especially in the twisties, my eyes are on the road and not what's in the car. Commuting to me, is not a "driving experience". It's movement from point a to b as efficiently and safely as possible. Others may feel differently and that's OK, you do you.

What are the chances that the new X5 model comes out with the same frontal headlight design as the new X7? Those new small headlight design does not look good and I wonder if that would impact the sales of BMW X5 next gen model.

Like Turtle Boy said, slim to none, but expect it to be more controversial than the G05 - some may like it, some may not.

I'm not a huge fan of renders but this may be fairly close.

The headlights look like they came from a Toyota Venza.

I'm looking forward to seeing the actual one since when it was shown to dealers in Las Vegas one was quoted as saying it has a “mean” look and X-shaped headlights that were “probably the coolest thing I’ve seen.”
I think the render may have missed that.

i would give anything for a real gear shifter again... and the ability to shift gears manual with a shifter (as opposed to paddles). I almost bought an AUDI just for the shifter... but couldn't come to terms with the OS.

and i miss my dash layout from the pre lci. The LCI guage options are the worst. i love analogue gauges (or at least the shape of a round gauge). While other brands have introduced linear gauges, like speedo and tacho... they still give the option of a traditional layout. There is an inherent simplicity with a dial gauge that one's brain is calibrated to what portion of the gauge you are occupying. That is why round (dial) gauges have existed for centuries. Please bring them back.
