Thanks for this. I’ve always done all my legwork so I’ll reach out to them and see how it works. If it saves me time plus money it’s a win.

If you're in Maryland, I work with local dealerships too. You can ship to South Dakota, but definitely less complicated locally!

Thank you for this post. No one told me I could get the military discount for my father’s service (who is also deceased). If only I had known on my current BMW! Regardless, I’ve been verified and put in on file for when my car arrives (could be Oct or Nov).

We tend to do most of our car shopping in MD. More choices. Closest BMW dealer to us out west is Sioux Falls or Denver.

Also considered the Range Rover full size and Sport but think the X5 50e is a nice fit.

Totally understand. I'm happy to help if you're interested. I'm getting strong discounts because of the volume I do at my dealerships.

Any chance you can share how to get the military discount? My dealer said he believes you have to be the one that served in the military and doesn’t apply to kids or parents.

It applies to your/the servicemember's immediate family.

I highly recommend you do not use that link to BMW's military site but rather use TrueCar's or NFCU's, if you are a member. BMW'd does not always allow you to print the certificate but rather go through a dealer. It is much cleaner to print out the form and present it to a dealer.

Thank you for pointing that out. I was a bit confused on why it was directing me to have a local dealer reach out to me.

I have a quote to order a M60 at 8% off of MSRP with the $2,000 and rebates on top of that. 0.0022 money Factor for a 3-year lease at 12,000 miles per year. Is this good?

Yes except for the MF. I believe the base MF is .0018 so it looks like the dealer is marking it up which puts $ in his pocket. Assuming top tier credit I’d insist on the base rate.
If I interpret your user name correctly you are in Fla. I can hook you up with a contact at BMW Macon GA if your dealer won’t budge. PM me if you wish. And GO Gators!

The base MF is .00180 for all mileage's. Dealers are allowed to mark up the MF up to .00040 which is what your dealer is doing. Many will not drop the markup but it doesn't hurt to press them.

As long as there are no mandatory dealer add-ons you seem to have a good discount.

He should also check the fees. I've seen Florida dealerships with a $2,200 doc fee lately - $1,199 plus another $999 "fee." They also charge a $399 "electronic filing fee" for registrations that is BS.

Yes, Florida dealers are crazy with their fees. It is often less expensive to buy out of state at the same discount and the shipping is less expensive than the fees.

What are the other listed fees? $800 is honestly low for Florida.

Hi everyone - new here. I'm in Missouri looking to do a build of an xdrive40i. There is not any local inventory of the configuration I want. The local dealer seems not willing to negotiate when I asked about discounting the MSRP on a build. Any advice? Is 8-10% a reasonable target? Just want to set an expectation.

Yes 8–10% is reasonable target in addition to any other incentives you may qualify for. Make your expectations known and shop around. Using a broker such as smithf80 or Next Level Auto Brokers is also an option.
