You should always shop around for a vehicle service contract rather than buying one when taking delivery of the vehicle. I have never seen a case where the pricing at delivery was even close to what a person could have had by shopping around.

As far as waiting, they will be a bit less expensive when fairly new however they also have your money for that much longer. Again, most recommend waiting until right before the new vehicle warranty expires but, like getting one to begin with, that os a personal choice.

If a person was set on getting one then I would say it should be backed by the manufacture. That said, there seems to be a lot of people that are happy with Fidelity so of going for a third-party that would be the one to consider.
I never purchased extended warranties until the last 5 years. Last couple cars have paid for themselves with repairs. My M340 was in the shop for stupid stuff quite a bit. Sunroof sticking and something breaking on it (twice), electric trunk opener broke, parking sensor went out, the last one was the oil pump had to be replaced @ 34K miles. While it was all under factory warranty, that last repair was a $7K cost. If that was a couple months later I would had been out of warranty and on the hook for the cost

I have some time to worry about it still.

Very unlikely you would get 10% off a 50e. It is worth a shot but if you get to 8% I think you did well. If it stays were it is at you didn't do bad.
With your guidance I countered asking for $8,000 off, remove the theft recovery, and had them add the extra incentives in. They countered back at $7,025 discount with my other requests and we ended up here with the attached bid.

Basically 8% off MSRP and 10.7% after incentives. Pretty happy with that considering the ease of negotiations for a fully loaded new 50e that is out of state and not even on my local dealer's lot. Gonna go sign papers after work!

I’ve been following most of your posts lately as I’m trying to get a feel of the market for 50e to get one for my wife.

Thank you for sharing a lot of insights!
You have a great deal of knowledge for sure!

I notice you’re in CO.
Do you work at the dealer here by any chance?

Thank you again for sharing your insights with the community!

No, I do not work at any of the dealers. As you may have found out already, in general CO does not discount like other regions/states. Hopefully that will change in time but for the most part they haven't gotten back to pre-COVID discount levels.

If you need a contact for a dealer just let me know I will get you one.

My 50e still awaiting carrier assignment.

My question if you can answer TurtleBoy - I have negotiated a deal in October where there was no conquest. I only got rebate for corporate.
Can I ask my dealer for November discount as well apart from % on MSRP + 1k for corporate? I don’t know if this is legit or democratic?? ☺️

The dealer discount and the incentives are two different things. What you did is negotiate the dealer discount and not the incentives. You can take the incentives that are available at time of delivery and not those that were activate at the time of order. If you filed out the credit app then you also got a lock so you could take those from time of order should they be better.

All that said, it makes no difference in your case since Conquest is not stackable with Corporate.

I'm also new to the site and am looking to get a X5 in Colorado. I appreciate all your help and guidance on this. I've asked about pricing from a dealer and was told that they don't discount that much as it is below their invoice. I'm interested in knowing what are the best options for purchase in Colorado (broker or dealer referral that you recommend)

Thanks!

Welcome to the forum. Unfortunately since you are new I can't send you a PM with a dealer contact info. If you want to post an email address, maybe create a new one, I can email you.

I also suggest considering a broker, both Scott at Insight smithf80 and Dan with Next Level Auto Brokers has many satisfied members here.

Hello, I am former F15 owner whom is considering ordering a G05. I am curious if anyone has Omar’s email at BMW of Macon? TIA

Edit: BTW, I am not a new Bimmerpost member. I have around for decades, but I had to create a new account as my previous account was unable to be reset and I could not get any assistance from @Admin.

Perfect! Thank you

Not to pry, but did you get anywhere close to the recommended percentage 8-10% off MSRP?

Hi,
I am new here I recently bought a 2025 X5 40i M.
We are considering buying a X5 M too. Do you know what suspension is with the M? do you know where to look at the site? I wanted to see if people had problems with the more sophisticated version. I think it has an air component.

They can do much better than the average person. Then again the average person does much worse than members of this site. Brokers will save you time and generally get a discount as good or better than you can get by shopping around.
