So, today was finally the delivery day for me. Long five months since the order, my M60i has arrived home
Not surprisingly, it’s instant love. Until the break in period ends, I won’t even complain about the castrated soundstage. And what happens later, time will show I’m pretty stoked about how the car turned out and how well it looks in person. My doubts concerned both the paint and the interior… I was unsure about the paint, because of the difficulty of capturing Tanzanite in pictures. It absolutely always comes out badly. However, in person, in the sun it’s just jaw-dropping - like the paint was an inch deep. Really happy about that! As for the interior, with the seats I optioned, the choices were basically two: black or tartufo (and I wanted ivory or silverstone; neither of which could be had). Since, in my view black interiors are too dark and solemn, I went with tartufo. And it’s nice - makes the interior pop a bit. But I’d definitely prefer a whitish interior, such as can be selected for the proper Ms. Anyway, zero reasons to complain A few snaps attached

Congrats!
Awesome spec, I had tanzanite in my last M4 and was stunning in the direct sunlight. Enjoy that V8!

Congrats! It’s gorgeous and TB with Tartufo is a perfect pairing.
The (lack of) exhaust is the only thing that bothers me to this day with the M60i. Barely ever hear the exhaust and sounds nothing like a V8 should. I never wanted something over the top and the exhaust pairing on had on my G80 prior to this was obnoxious at times but I also don’t like having zero sound. The wife and kids are happy…but I’m certainly not! Hoping to pull the trigger on an exhaust upgrade sometime this year. Waiting to hear how the Supersprint rear exhaust sounds once IND has the chance to get one in the hands of a customer in the coming weeks. The Dahler is intriguing as well but I am worried that it might be a bit too far on the “loud” end of the spectrum for what I ultimately want…but perhaps that would only be if it gets paired with their DP.

Yes, as I said in some other thread, I can’t understand why X5 destined for the US market can’t have some options. Clearly, it’s not for the parts shortage (they’re all built in the same plant), nor because of added cost (I bet many would happily pay up)
The seats are… the best I’ve ever had on any car - easily beating the comfort seats in my previous ride, the 7-series (I believe the comfort seats are called “multicontour” in US). I couldn’t be happier Same goes for the double glazing (acoustic glass). The car is eerily silent inside (granted, we are in the run-in period and I only went as fast as ca 75 mph, but still the noise levels were impressively low)

I won’t touch the engine with any piggybacks. The car doesn’t “need” more power or torque - happy with it as is

Speed limiter is present and can’t be removed (to the best of my awareness at least)
