Won’t be going on the streets just yet. She’s staying at the shop due to weather. It’s too wet. We didn’t go through the procedure just to kill all of the results 10 seconds after leaving the shop, did we?
The weather fairy predicts dry conditions for tomorrow, so that might be when I get my ride back

Picked up my ride from the beauty parlor. Fell in love all over again
The bad thing about Tanzanite is how pi$$ poor it comes out in pictures. Oh well

That sucks, but should at least be an easy pull and plug in that location. Did you figure it out because the tire was getting flat?

I must admit I learnt there’s an issue with the tire thanks to the BMW app. There was a warning saying “check tire pressure at your convenience” or something as innocent along these lines. Nothing worrying or urgent. I checked the pressures in the app and it showed pressure in the rear right tire was well below the level of the remaining 3 wheels. Without much deliberation, I took the car to the tire shop - and the rest of the story is up there in the pics… No clue where I picked up a nail this size

Ashamed to admit, I do not know the details, and after doing some basic search, I couldn't find an answer either here on the forum, or in other resources on the internet. All I can say is that the tune is different, and that the X5M/X6M engine variant is officially rated for around 80 hp more and has more aggressive throttle response

Be happy with your car! There are reasons why you chose the paint you did, and focus on those. You made the right choice in the moment, appreciate that Giving yourself unnecessary stress won’t make your day better, trust me And, if it makes things a bit easier for you, I’ll admit to some buyer’s remorse myself. You see, if I were to order my car again today, I’d go with Marina Bay Blue. Much more fun, much more eye opening. A far greater platform for any future mods. Shows the body lines and muscularity so much better than Tanzanite However, going with MBB at the time when I ordered my car would go against some princpal conditions I set for myself when choosing my next ride. The most relevant one was that I CHOSE to get a ride which would appear more modest and tame than my previous car. And that was a seven series which most people perceived as gold (Donington Grey), and it caught attention almost as much as if it were painted Java Green. For social reasons (e.g., vs the people I managed at work, and who earned much less than me), I needed to appear much less celebrity-like Hence, Tanzanite Since then, I left my company and some choice parameters could be relaxed. So I’d go with a more lively paint. But that totally doesn’t disturb my sleep at night, because the merits of this car are the same, no matter the paint I’m happy with what I have. Hope you can be too!

So, a few months into the car ownership, I decided to give it some extra protection (had a mishap with a scratch, which could have been much more minor, and likely not require a panel re-paint had the car been PPF covered at the time of the scratch)
I'm about to get a full body PPF treatment for my tanzanite beauty (XPEL UltimatePlus, gloss version). And my question is - should I adapt my maintenance / cleaning routine in any way after the procedure? Some specific chemicals to avoid (washing, iron removal, etc.)? Do / don't do waxing? Any suggestions welcome. This is going to be my first ever PPF application, so I'm a complete newbie and want to make sure I avoid the typical mistakes Thanks!

Here’s a pic from the installers: PPF + ceramic coat applied. All in all the procedure took 5 days + 1 day to let the layers dry up and cure. I’ll add my own pics when I pick her up

Looking good. Love that color. The surroundings look like Cleveland, OH this time of year. Large Polish population there. One would think the immigrants from years ago would have searched for a better climate.

Very true. If I were to leave Poland, that’d definitely be to a place with better weather

Weather aside, I enjoyed a fruitful career with a Cleveland company that was founded in 1906 by a Polish immigrant named Jacob Sapirstein who founded American Greetings Corp. I did manage to tolerate the weather for many years and am now retired and living in the southeast USA.

Looks great! I'll be curious to hear what you think about keeping the darker color clean as time goes on.
