When I was initially deciding how to spec this car in February, I knew I wanted to go darker as most of my cars in the past have ben white or lighter colors. I was dead set on BSM and was very excited to build it out. Then, while nosing around the internet late one night, I came across pics of a paint job that stopped me dead in my tracks. It was black – but only in certain light and at certain angles; And when the light hit it just right, a pop of emerald green that was mesmerizing.

That was it. I knew then that I was going to go with Individual Oxford Green, regardless of how long the lead time was going to be. I started the process of getting my order set up, hoping it would look as amazing in person once it was built.

I’ve had it for a few weeks now – and back from PPF, tint, and ceramic, just yesterday - and I couldn’t be happier. The combo of OG with tartufo turned out amazing. Pictures don’t do the paint justice, but I’m posting a handful here for others to check out.

Not exactly sure what mods will be in store in the months to come, but for now I am going to just enjoy driving it!

Long time lurker first time poster. Color combination looks absolutely fantastic! I’ve been waiting on confirmation for the same color combination for the past month. When my wife saw Tartufo in person she said “too bad you can’t get the car in dark green”. I looked up the Individual paint and we both selected the same (Oxford Green). I then stumbled across your original post with your order, which was fortunate as dealer told me you couldn’t order individual paint for X5. I told him that wasn’t true as I read online where you had placed the order so I asked him to look into it. My CA (who didn’t know anything about BMW’s) has since left the dealership so I’m getting better support now……just trying to figure out how long I’ll have to wait when they change my order to Individual Paint. Anyway, thanks for posting the pictures….you’ve made me feel much better about my decision.

Happy to hear you feel better about the combo having seen some pictures. I took delivery sight unseen hoping it would look as good in person as I imagined, and I couldn't be happier with it.

I originally spec'd mine with the black 22's which I had seen some pics and TY vids of online, but swapped to the 21" 741Ms for a bit of contrast. SO happy I made that change. I didn't think I'd like the wheels as much and I love them.

Good luck getting your build and timing locked in. It's a painful wait - especially with the extra complexity of the factory timing their individual orders together in batches - but well worth it. Look forward to seeing pics of yours once you get it!

Love your wheels too. Unfortunately, we live in MI so I’m sticking with the 20” 740M’s as the roads are beyond bad here.

Absolutely stunning - congratulations! Love this color and combo, but I can't handle the weekly washing regimen to keep a black looking clean - does it show much dirt like the blacks do?

Thank you! I absolutely love it. I haven't put enough miles on it yet to really pass judgment on what it takes to keep it clean. Only 250 miles logged since I picked it up 4 weeks ago.

The center console tray seems to give me the extra bit of storage organization that I needed (including a spot for my sunglasses), but that tray is clever and something I will definitely consider if I find that I need more options to organize things. Cheers!

Beautiful combo. I am just about to submit my build and it's quite similar to yours. I'm going with Oxford Green exterior but coffee interior as I love the darker brown.

I have a 992 GT3 Touring in Amethyst metallic which is identical in theme to Oxford, but purple instead of green. I love how it looks almost black in darker lighting then has that beautiful pop of metallic color in the light. Such a dynamic color. That's why Oxford won me over when I wanted to go green/brown for the theme.

Will be pairing those colors with the 22" 745i wheels

I was going back and forth between tartufo and coffee when I spec'd mine and it was a tough decision. I'm sure both look great paired with OG. The amount of black-to-bright green shift in the paint is exactly what drew me to the color in the first place. Once I saw some walk-around video of an Oxford Green X5 showcasing the range, I didn't consider any other color.

Your spec sounds like it's going to be beautiful. Look forward to seeing some pics of it once it's all yours.

Alcantara warning-free Euro Visors and 70% ceramic sunroof tint installed.

The former looks really clean and I couldn't be happier with them.
The latter makes a massive difference in keeping the cabin cooler with as much sun as we get in Colorado.
