New M60i order help
I’m building my new X5 m60i and need help with the following…..
Any comments or suggestions on whether or not to get the M adaptive sport suspension or the 2 axle lift air suspension ? I’m not sure if the M60i has a sporty enough ride. Thank you |

Interested in others’ take here as well, but I ordered the M Pro Suspension for the active roll bars, and everything I’ve read or seen says that is a better option for a sportier ride.

I test drove the X5m comp on 22s, X5m 60i with air on 22s, 60i with m sport pro on 22s. I chose the air suspension to soften daily drives and then placed in sport mode plus for fun. I found the m sport pro suspension encroaching on the comps stiffness, which if you a sports car that weighs 5k pounds, then go that direction . Not my preference but to each their own. I would definitely drive the X5m comp if available to get a feel for the sport tuning.

My M60i has 18k miles on it and it has MSport pro option. Ride, comfort and performance are great for my driving needs.

M Adaptive Sport Suspension all the way. The air suspension is too floaty and takes away from the M handling IMO.

Second the M Pro Suspension. It’s not really harsh and taking the “lean” out of corners makes it very smooth.

M Adaptive Pro is too soft and floaty in conform, it is more tolerable once you put it in sport plus. I am planning on lowering my car in hopes the handling improves in comfort mode. Suspension feel is a personal take, what it is too soft to me it could be just right for you or too harsh.

I would ask yourself what you want. If you want a ridiculously fast SUV, but primarily commute with it or don't care about a well damped but sporty ride, then go with Air. Hands down, air will be the most comfortable at the expense of some squishiness in comfort mode. Keep in mind that with air you can lower in sport mode or when it's parked so it looks better (personal preference) If you want a sports car but life tells you that you need an SUV, I would get M Adaptive. The ride isn't harsh at all, but it definitely feels tighter than you would expect from an SUV. You won't hate potholes and railroad crossings but they'll be more pronounced. You can't go wrong with either, but it's definitely a personal choice. Last edited by Dixie21; 10-29-2024 at 11:48 AM.. |

I concur - M adaptive suspension performs very well (great comfort, prevents much of the lean in quicker corners)
