where i'm confused is that the spare wheel for the previous gen was 18" that was about 90 bucks msrp. the only wheel that appears to have popped up this far, for this gen, has an msrp of like 475 (part # 36 11 6 880 744). this can't possibly be the set up they include you opt-in for the spare from the factory, can it? it's possible i guess but it's also possible there is a lower cost option for the 19" wheel more in line with the last gen. |

Glad I ordered a spare as part of my build. $150 is a bargain. Does the spare tire option include a jack and wheel bolt wrench?

Just found your post. its not a 100% markup. BMW offers the spare for $150 when you order it but the after sales purchase is insanely expensive. the BMW retail on the wheel is $473 and the tire is $170. Totaling $643 retail.

Was operating under assumption that wheel was comparable in price to last gen. Appears that the only wheel option is, like you said, 5x the cost of last gen’s 18” emergency spare wheel. Apologies for any harm this may have caused your business. FWIW part numbers give buyers transparency they are looking for so maybe you can add those if you agree it might help. |

Hey guys, since this is the youngest spare tire thread, I will ask my question here. Can one of you with the spare wheel set help me find out what the foam "Jack Kit Tray" part number is? This is the only remaining part of the spare tire set that I am still missing. The parts guy in my dealer comes up empty.

Now there seems to be something wrong with the site at the links you provided. Their descriptions are useless for both links. Plug in both part numbers into Google and look them up elsewhere and you get 19" (5Bx19 ET:-2 to be precise) rim for both part numbers. I think one part number is rim plus tire and the other is rim only, paradoxically in reverse to the price. Since you're in US (which means this is actually available to you, vs say Canada for example) and (I apologize ahead for this) not necessarily fully versed in wheel specs, you should just buy the full kit from a BMW dealer which will include the right rim, tire, and packaged with a handy storage/jack kit that will all fit nice and snug under the floor in the hatch.

Regardless of which tire/wheel you have on your vehicle, the OD of the package is very close to being identical, and are interchangeable in sets (never mix various sizes except in an emergency, and then, follow the restrictions on maximum speed).

I looked at the BMW parts site linked in this thread, and noted that:
- the spare wheel and tire are expensive to get post facto (we knew that) - you still have to get a Jack (over $100 for a scissor hack?! Maybe aftermarket would work), a couple of caps, fasteners and rods to hold the wheel in place, and a different pan piece for the bottom of the trunk... because of course they have different ones whether you have the spare or not. I assume it is the three-figure pan part that allows you to secure the spare in place |

In US, almost anywhere. There are several online retailers that sponsor Bimmerpost and post around here. For example: https://g05.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1570037
In Canada, you gotta know somebody ...

Parts are easy to find from any online retailer. Its just a matter of getting the parts numbers. I researched it pre-purchase when I was eyeing up a few rides without the spare.

Space Saver Spare Wheel Compatibility
Can anyone advise me if the space saver for an X5 Series E70 is compatible with the X5 G05, as I have an option to purchase a second hand spare wheel?
