I got 07/2020.54 OTA today, upgraded from 11/2019.70. Wiped all my coding too, so ended up spending around 30mins recoding everything. |

As far as I can tell, the buttons do nothing. I tried with the car on and off.. with headlights on and off. Nothing.

Hi everyone had a little drive with Apple Maps activated in the central instrument display and HUD. As has been mentioned by TurtleBay this doesn’t work for Google Maps or Waze
I wouldn’t bother with it for Apple Maps either - the native HUD nav and central display using BMW mapping is far nicer. Now obviously Carplay is nicer than the native mapping for the main display I was hoping the update would combine the best of both worlds As far as I can see Carplay HUD integration for mapping is just very simple turn indicators rather than a map view unless I am missing something As for the the central instrument display its a rolling card of next turns above what seems to be a grey grid with nothing else showing Pretty disappointing all round |

FWIW - I had a service scheduled yesterday and just noticed they upgraded me to 07/2020.60
I don't see any noticeable differences between the experiences people have noted with .54 but will post if I see anything significant. |

That's surprising, 11/2020.xx should be released soon based on traditional BMW lifecycle SW release patterns.

I got notified of the update being available this morning. I downloaded it to my phone but haven't been in the vehicle long enough for it to download to it. I'm currently on 07/2020.25.

OTA is slow. Faster is to download to your phone via wifi, then transfer it to the vehicle. Depending on what version and what has to be changed, it can be up to 1.6g...that's a lot of data.

I got the update notification today. I am now updated to 07/2020.54. Was hoping to see the Sport Mode Tach Display fixed for the HUD, but sadly it seems the same.. broken.
Of course all of my coding was wiped out, except Anti-Dazzle. For some reason that is still working, probably because of the way I wrote the FA, so my 5AP does not exist, thus maybe the update did not care or know to put it back. |

after downloading 7/2020.54 and having a CEL as well as Drivetrain Malfunction message, it mysteriously disappeared on the way to service appointment. They pulled up a fault code that was from 6+ months ago so it must of been a ghost in the software that cleared itself out after multiple engine restarts.

It was confirmed by my dealer that the buttons are disabled (see attached from release notes) and from December 2020 new cars will be produced without these buttons (for Europe and China). I dont know if you can enable the buttons through coding.

I'm annoyed to have buttons that don't work. My old 530d has the same parking light functionality. Oh well, maybe they'll disable the start/stop button next..

What is interesting is I always thought the reason for the parking lights were regulations in Europe. Now they don't work there but still do here in the US.

I installed the update today (OTA).
Android Auto is very well implemented, just get in the car and it is ready and good to go. No cables like most other brands. After I installed the update, it wasn't immediately there (Which I knew was common), but once I updated apps and services, then rebooted iDrive (30s power button), it appeared. Havent tested the improved maps, but the new voice commands are nice, even if I never use it. |

Upgraded by G06 today (in Sydney Australia). Upgrade looks good with lots of little beneficial features. However two glitches
1. When I use the driver side control to adjust the passenger seat, pushing the seat forward sends it backwards, and vice Verd’s 2. There is almost no bass from the stereo. The audio setting have not changed but the sound is terrible. Very very bizarre and I am hoping for a fix ASAP. Have gone through the obvious settings but no improvement. Has anyone else has either of these issues? Any suggestions. |
