New Order-2021 X5 M50i

Artic Grey
Coffee Merino
Dynamic Handling Package
Driving Assistance Professional Package
Parking Assistance Package
Executive Package
Space Saver Spare
Red M Brake Calipers
Heated Front Seats/Armrests/Steering Wheel
Massaging Seats
Bowers & Wilkins
Alcantara Headliner
Extended Shadowline Trim
BMW Individual Fineline Black Trim w/ Aluminum Inserts
741M Wheels

The only options I didn't get that I may regret is the leather dash, and the rear heated seats. I debated for a very long time over the wheel choices, but in the end I went for 21s because I think they look pretty good, and they should ride a bit smoother. My kids are mostly grown now, so it's rare that I have any backseat passengers.

This will be my first BMW, coming from a 2017 Audi Q7 Prestige. HUGE difference from the Audi, I am really looking forward to the change.

Ordered October 14, 2020. Still showing as Scheduled for Production as I write this, but the Customer Service person I talked to said it should start production this week. Hopefully that is true.

First post, so "Hello!" to you all.

Congratulations, the build looks awesome!
I placed my order on 10/26 and the online status has been showing scheduled for production since 10/30, with no fixed date yet. Mine is XDrive40i, Exec + Driving + Parking + Spare, Phytonic Blue exterior and Black leather interior. This is my first build too, and I am pretty excited.

Mine finally updated this morning to "Production Begins". There is a VIN # now at least.

Same here - updated to "production begins" today. 45e. So many problems with this but would it not be cool if you could see the car as it's built through in-factory cameras (and be able to connect to car cameras once build is complete)? Ok maybe kinda creepy for the factory staff. But watching your actual car move from frame to freight would be kinda fun.

Nice build! I've got the same color combo on order, Arctic Grey with Coffee Merino with extended shadowline. The fineline black trim was very tempting, will love to see some real life pics with that trim.

Update-Production Status

Just an update that may be interesting to a few watching their production status, I posted on 11/11/2020 that the production status had changed to "Production Begins" and that the VIN had been assigned. The date of this post is 11/18/2020 and the status has not changed. I'll post another update when it finally starts assembly. By the way, ordered on 10/14/2020, so hitting the 5-week mark today. I was told 4-6 weeks, so if it goes into assembly soon, that will turn out to be about right. There's a chance I could get it next weekend (I live in Upstate SC, so quick delivery.)

Give Genius a call, wait for a live person, and they should be able to give you the week and likely the day it will be assembled.

1 (800) 831-1117 is the same info that sales reps can see. Just ask for vehicle production status. Just have your production number handy and ready to go as you will need it to get updates.

OK, I called and talked to a person who pulled it up and they said it is anticipated to complete production on 11/30. Maybe I'll get lucky.

When I checked this morning the status had updated to "Entering Assembly Line", so for those who may be interested, it sat in "Production Begins" for approximately 12 days. I have never found much information out there on how long the preliminary stages can last, so hopefully this is helpful down the line to somebody.

We also ordered a X5 xdrive 40i about a week before I ordered my M50, and we picked it up from the dealer a week ago. Based on that recent experience, things move quickly through assembly, QC, and final assembly, and the next bottleneck is delivery. We shall see.

Things progressed throughout the day yesterday. When I checked it last night it was in Quality check and this morning it is in Awaiting Carrier Assignment. Looking good for delivery to the dealer this weekend or early next week.
