Drip Rail Grommet

I need two grommets for my drip rail and I can’t find the part number for the life of me on real OEM. Hoping someone here had theirs snap and replaced.

The drip rail part number is/

63219491404

It’s the white piece here:

Thank you.

go on amazon and search for "BMW clips" and see if you can find one that looks like it.

Based on the diagram…it’s #5 and there is no hardware identified for it. This usually means that the hardware comes with the part.

The only other suggestion I have is to go to your local BMW dealership’s Parts Dept and hopefully they have someone working behind the counter that is familiar with the BMW ASAP (after sales assistance portal)…which may be called AOS (after sales online system) now.

ASAP allows them to search deeper into the part database and they may be able to break down that part number to find what that white piece is.

Back in the old days when us owners could get copies of the BMW ETK/EBA database…we could dig down into the parts database to find this stuff.

The ASAP database was how I found a replacement screw/clip thingy for one of the mud flaps for my 2006 e53 X5. The regular parts database didn’t have it listed…and this is how the Part Dept manager was able to find it. They pulled up the mud flap and the ASAP database had a link that listed all the parts that came with the mud flap.

Good luck.

There's this part sheet for what looks like generic trim plugs: https://www.bmwpartsdeal.com/parts-l..._cap_plug.html

Probably doesn't help but it might be in the right direction for you.

Thank you both. I remembered this morning that I had my old drip rails from my G30 from after I upgraded the tails to LCI that came with new drip rails. I pulled a few from one of those and problem solved. I’m still going to get the dealer to get me a new drip rail for the X5.

Sorry for old thread resurrection here - I am in search of this same grommet, any info out there on a part number?

The drip rail itself looks to be NLA on getbmwparts and can't seem to find the right thing on Amazon, other searches etc.

Thought I would try this before spending $45 on a used drip rail on ebay.

Thank you in advance!

I have the brand new drip rail that the dealer sent me after I complained. It’s still in the box as I solved the problem with my G30 old drip rails, which I will never use. How many do you need? PM me your info and I’ll shoot you one or two.

Also, I have found that for crap like this, it’s easier to walk into the parts counter at your dealer and show them what you need. I’m sure they have them on hand.

Bump for an older thread, hopefully someone is able to recall a part number or source for aftermarket clips. Frustrating that drip rails are model specific and realoem doesn't show the mounting clip in the featured category.

Thanks!

Just a follow up for those who might be searching for this info in the future.

The BMW part number for this Clip Ball Attachment is 07145A445B0

They are now yellow and not white, which apparently means BMW is making them out of gold. My total for two clips from my local dealer was $26 and I had to make a return trip next day to pick up. Comically pricey to source locally but my project is now completed.

Geez, I think you just paid for the entire mold that makes them!

I know right?!?? 50% of the cost of the whole drip rail part just to replace the two mounting clips.

Hopefully others can benefit from this info and only pay the regular $5/ea price from their preferred online BMW part supplier.
