Thanks for the comments, and great to know that my range is only gone bc of the cold and not gone forever, which was my biggest concern. I agree, its not worth getting BMW or the dealership involved if things return to normal when winter is over.

Electric range of 45e at -20 degrees C and below :-) (Picture taken in garage, so only -13.5 C.)

The secret is that I started over 500 meters above sea level while the destination was at 40 meters only.

I think, another secret is Adaptive mode, where you drive most of your trip on gas, and regenerate e-miles down the road to use them later.

i found no difference between Adaptive and Hybrid drive modes. BMW saw this, too, and removed Adaptive drive mode altogether when they produced the 50e.

(i actually prefer to use Hybrid Eco Pro on long road trips.)

This doesn't really count nor mean anything since you have been using gasoline during the trip. Whenever the engine is disengaged it counts as Edrive kms. Theoretically you can have an empty battery, climb 2000m using gasoline, and coast down agian claiming 50 km of EV range out of nothing.

Hi to all,

I have the G30 530e 2019 and yesterday managed to do the following change in order to achieve better battery range:

I only changed SOC_min_low from 170 -> 120.

Today after charging during the night until 90%, I didnt notice any change in the range displayed.

Any feedback is appreciated. Can someone explain

SOC_hub_fact
SOC_min_init
SOC_min_low_cold

In the picture you see the default values (except SOC_min_low) for my German edition car.

Regards,
Mike
