WE check for recalls on ours and it is at the dealer and it did not show up. We tried to talk them in to it but it was BMW finance that would not let it go.

Do recalls show up if car is in transit? Or only once car is checked into inventory at the dealership ?
If built before July 24, you are good. Dealer will know by looking it up. They can't release the car if it's on the list.

Same situation. My X5 50e was delievered to the dealer and plan to pick up this week. Then received phone call from my SA this morning and informed about the stop sale. Sigh…

Hi! What exactly is the issue? I took my 50e delivery about 3 weeks ago and I didn’t notice any of the problem; just asking to make sure, thanks!

Quick question. How do we find out if we have idrive 8 or 8.5? And how to find out about the production date? Thanks!

Mine too, they said today it was a software (sim card) issue. With most X5's and 4 series. They don't know when it it be fixed.

OS 8.5 will be installed at the factory after 8/1 production date.

To check detailed status and production date with a browser:

Open browser and go to BMW My Garage https://mygarage.bmwusa.com/

Hit F12 to open the developer screen and click on console.

Copy and paste the string below into the bottom of the console section in your browser. I have used Chrome, Edge and Firefox. All browsers work. Look for "Prod date" in the text.

sessionStorage.getItem("production-vehicles")

You can also do the more detailed version of using the network instead of console but that's more involved.

We took delivery of our 24’ 50e on 7/31 and it appears to have this issue. I have tried several times to use the hands free driving, but the option does not appear. Logged into BMW ID, the assist plus option is on in settings, and even tried doing a restart of the head unit, but nothing did the trick. Works great on our iX, so I really think our X5 is impacted by this.
When I ran the VIN through a decoder it says our production date was 7/18, but not sure how accurate those are. If I recall correctly, that was our original production date but appeared to be delayed and stuck in that quality check stage for almost a week before it was released to a carrier.

You can run you VIN at the German website to find out if you are impacted

Been in limbo since my car reached the dealer last Wednesday. No real updates on when it will be resolved. Not limited to 50e. My dealer has other models with DAP that can’t be released either.

Just drove across the Southeast to pick up my new 2024 X5 m60i....Stayed overnight Sunday only to find out 8:00am Monday morning the stop sale order had been issued (STOP024988). Hoping it gets resolved soon. It was a long 7 hour drive back lol.

My daughter did the same thing on a BMW X7. Lucky for her she had a place to stay. Went back home will have to wait till the call comes in.

So far no news on my end, aside that BMW is looking into it.

The stop sale was issued at 10:50 am on Saturday morning. The dealership should have contacted you right after. I would try to get some compensation for this

Thanks so much for that info....My rep told me he just found out about it on Monday morning when he got in (Dealer closed on Sunday). We had an appointment set for 9:45 to take delivery and I got the call around 8:00am. Probably an honest mistake but wish someone would have let me know it was easily $1,200 in travel costs before all was said and done. The did agree to ship my car at no addtl cost and pick up my trade but they should have offered more.....The car sure looks good though
