Loaner/Rental gas
I'm curious...when you have a BMW rental or loaner (most respondents will probably be loaners)...do you fill it with:
87? 89? 91/92? Be honest! |

That's why I never buy a rental BMW, regardless of how cheap it is. No one babies rental cars like they do their own, let's all be honest.

Isn't 89oct the minimum, with 91oct recommended (I have a 45e)? In any case I'd be shocked if it did anything noticeable other than feel down a few HP. It's not like the 80s where you actually could damage an engine by using too low of octane.
But personally, I put the recommended fuel in every car I drive regardless of who owns it. I guess I'm one of those weird guys that prides himself a bit on doing the right thing even when no one is looking.

I put super. Call me stupid but that’s what I use in my car, so I do the same with loaners.

A loaner is a privilege that we’d all complain about if lost. Yes I’m apparently in the minority. I fuel up with premium. Hell, I even hand-washed one I had for a few days. Returned better than I receive.

Always 93. I forgot to fill one time when I returned it and the SA just wrote it off and told me not to worry about it. I’m pretty happy with my dealership

Impressive poll numbers. I’d buy used from you folks and sleep well (except for the dipsh*t a few weeks ago who posted totaling his M3 after a slide on black ice…wearing PS4’s…in New York State in Jan).
