Maxton kit

Fitted the front rear and side Maxton kit to my 45e. Great easy fitment and very good prices from Maxton UK. The side ones are hard to photo with the black sill graphics.

Very nice! How straight forward was it installing the front & rear parts?

I recently installed the front lip. It goes well with BSM paint and High-gloss Shadow line trim.

Looks good on white! Mine is carbon black and the kits go with the black trims pretty well. Loves their design and especially the price. Fitment is not perfect tho.

Ordered it few days ago, I guess I will get in the end of April-May. Do you need to drill anything in order to put front lip?

Yes you need to drill some holes but nothing that would be visible if you were to remove the splitter at a later date

Any chance you can take pictures of the under trays that you had to remove? I ask because I lost one front splitter to lose screws and it ended up being a $700 mistake!!! Have the maxton one on order and don't want to make the same mistake again lol

Just carelessness - used 4 self tapping screws and drove around for a year or so and one day hit a bump on the road and the lip just fell down and I drove over it make sure you screw in the middle part of the lip to the top part and then the entire thing with at least 8 screws spanning from one end of the bumper to the other.

Hahahaha I thought it did right away. So 4 screws hold a year, I guess 8 screws will last two years? Hahaha.

How long was screws? I assume you used double sided tape as well?

If you have a tow hook you need a small cut out at the rear diffusor. The installation is really easy.

Has anyone installed the Maxton kit - specifically the front lip and side skirts in their Carbon Fiber look? I have ordered the entire kit in the Carbon fiber look but their shipping delays are longggg and they have all the items in stock for Gloss black. I have a Carbon Metallic color on my G05 and my mirror caps are CF so I ordered the CF look for maxton kit thinking that it would tie in with the mirror caps that I have in CF but now I am being impatient lol.

Any pictures of CF look on a Carbon black X5?

Great looking add. We just took possession of our 2021 AG and thinking of adding the Maxton kit. The gloss black should be a nice contrast to the AG.

Hi all, sorry to dig up this thread again. I’ve just received my splitter and was expecting a few pre-drilled holes to line up against. Are there any holes that can be reused underneath the car or do all of them need drilling?

Thanks,
Doug

Doug I used a trolley jack and some 3m tape just to hold it in place and then drilled the holes. I used some longer fasteners as well. You need to remove the plastic undertray which is very easy to get your hands under he bumper .

How many holes did you drill and did you use the self tapping screws that came with it or stainless steel ones?

Also, what do you mean by long fasteners? I have my front and rear splitters arriving on Friday so I plan to install over the weekend.

Any advise/suggestions/tips are much much appreciated.

Think I used eight 6mm x 10mm stainless with washers and didnt bother with the self tappers. Its been on 10,000 miles and not moved at all.
