First Time BMW Owner

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
I have always wanted a German vehicle and finally, last week, my wife talked me into taking the leap. Placed my order for a new 2024 BMW X6 M60i. Just got my Order confirmation number and pending a slot in production.

I had a lot of anxiety about maintenance cost, reliability, value for the money. From reading a lot of post it seems like I will not regret this purchase.

Just to mention, the dealer kind of hooked me when I took my first test drive because he put me in an X5 Competition. I loved that test drive. Next time I drove the X5 40i that was my original choice. Ended up with a compromise and got the M60i in X6 because I like that style.

So here we go on my first BMW experience, wish me luck.

Congrats and that's a great way to break into the club! My first BMW was at 25 and I leased a new '96 318is. My wife and I got it in red over tan, which was inspired by the Charlie Sheen movie "The Chase"
Dam good movie btw!

Welcome to the forum.
You will love your M60i when you get it. The new S68 TTV8 rocks with refined power delivery. Best vehicle I have owned over the decades. I've had numerous BMWs, Porsches, along with other premium brands and this M60i is the best.
Enjoy!

That was a sweet ride back then. Too it’s still not around!

Did you have your polo collar up?

I’m coming from a competition to a m60i. They are very different.

I'm going to use that strategy next time I'm buying a new car. I'll test drive a beast and then settle for an M60i!! Good for you. Good luck and enjoy.

They certainly are and the M60i is the sweet spot.

A couple weeks prior to your build week you will go into the Production Begins status. That does not mean that assembly has begun but rather that a VIN has been assigned and parts ordered/allocated. You can then use the "F12" process to determine your assembly date.

I’m also waiting on delivery of my first ever BMW (X5 50e currently in transit)!
I love the car but I’m a big blinker guy, so I’m nervous it won’t be a good fit for me. Time will tell.

Update on X6 M60i

Finally took delivery of my new BMW on Nov. 30th. Oh what a feeling!!! So far I am still in love with this vehicle. So much is automated. Still getting used to and learning what you can do with Gesture controls and with My BMW commands. Power and ride has not disappointed me at all. I have the leather seats and they are so soft and comfortable. This car has so many bells and whistles I am still learning where they are and how to adjust them per my preferences. My local dealer ship has been very helpful if and when I have any questions. So far very pleased with this choice. I actually enjoy driving this vehicle.

Congrats!

I bought myself the X5 45e in Dec 2020, and I consider it one of the best adult purchases I’ve ever made. 3 years later and still a joy to drive!

my wife is a bimmer girl, having driven them since 2008, so she was stoked that I dove in (easy to switch between vehicles since the tech and layout are similar)

My first bimmer was a 1977 630Csi... I remember it fondly....
