Augmented Reality

AR is awesome during navigation - maybe a little gimmickey, but I think it's cool. In addition to navigation in my gauge cluster I have an AR option as well, but every time I select AR it gives a message saying that it will only work after 10 minutes of driving without route guidance active. Even after driving 10 minutes the AR view never starts. I want it because I had an Uber driver who used similar tech in his Escalade during a torrential downpour and it was super helpful to see the front facing cam behind the steering wheel with the washout on the windshield. Any ideas on if I can run the AR without navigation on the LCI x5?

What happens if you enable route guidance and then shortly after cancel route guidance? Does AR stay in cluster?
