I'm ready to lower this 4x4 look.
Done it. Here are the pictures of X6M that I've done.

Well, if MSS UK doesn't flakes out, I can have it under your Christmas tree tomorrow.

Nope, I think they are on another COVID lockdown.

Looks Great.
What difference has it made to the ride?

Forgive my ignorance, but how can you get a better ride with lowered stance? Don't the wheels have less travel and thus would have less space to absorb bumps?

Also, how much is the drop and is it possible to get these and NOT lower the car? I wouldn't mind a more comfortable ride, but depending on how much the drop is this could be a deal breaker for me.

Better ride does not mean more travel or less. Its all about spring rate and shock absorption. These can be set to stock height.

I personally don't like an all black wheel but if I had to choose, Gloss black or semi gloss.

Thanks - didn't realize these can be set to stock height!

Regarding your 2nd sentence - imagine having 0 wheel travel and it should be clear that the statement as you wrote it is incorrect.

That is a rather extreme assumption but yes my statement is correct. I don't know of anything on the road that has zero, that would be plain stupid. My answer to you is correct unless you have zero... wow?

If you agree that it's incorrect for zero, you must believe in some weird discontinuity for your statement to be true for a small non-zero value. Discontinuous phenomena are very rare in nature and are all very special. Instead most likely result is that comfort continuously increases from zero and saturates for some large enough wheel travel (because bumps on the road have finite size and car speed is finite). So to answer my original question - this saturation must be happening before stock height and stock is presumably overly conservative.

In any case, physics aside, I perused the X3M forums where this has been out for a longer time, and most people there were seeing worse subjective comfort than stock if lowered by more than about an inch, so that'll be a good guess for X5M as well.

I need to do a bit more research on installers nearby, but this will be a very tempting proposition once I switch back to summer tires. I don't know if this is me just getting used to it, but ride seems pretty nice since I've switched to winter tires.

That once again is not how suspension works... You are working off of extremes only with your comments. And no its not true that because you get closer to zero you are getting worse. You are not understanding the spring rate, or rebound.... My suggestion is you call MSS ask to speak with an engineer (they might have to call you back). It's not like you are going over to a Honda civic putting a torch to the spring and watching it get lower, you are asking about engineered parts designed for comfort and handling in mind. The MSS springs have 3 total rates built into them to allow for the adjustability.

Ok, if we can't agree on the very basic math and physics proposition of continuity of comfort as a function of wheel travel, then this discussion can't go any further. Thanks again for the original tidbit about stock height adjustment.

To those who have installed. I just moved from Orange County Socal to a lake house in South Carolina. I have a shop here that quoted me $750 for install on the MMS springs for the F96. I swear when I lowered my F85 it was $500 for install.

What are you charging or being charged for install? I feel like I walk in and $$$ signs are on my forehead. I'm in a major remodel on the home and addicted to carbon fiber so every dollar counts. Especially if my wife finds out.

I'm at around that amount for a quote I got at a local shop. The older cars didn't need to have all four corners done like these new ones from what I was told.
