So a couple things about Autoflex: you can pretty much eliminate orange peel by polishing after first application and then flow coating clear on top followed by another round of polishing - which I did on my car - but it's another level of cost and difficulty for the installer.

Also some orange peel is desirable despite the commonly held opinion that it's bad because it helps hide tiny imperfections in the paint/clear. If you're going to try and eliminate it your detailing game needs to be on point.

Lastly, sometimes the car you want isn't available in the color you want when and how you want it, so these types of products let you change it up on a semi-permanent basis. I might go from Atlantis to IOMG next time around while still keeping my F80.

Where at? Curious if there's an installer in the north east.
I went to liquid wrap labs in central PA and theres at least one in Queens if that's too far for you

I love the idea of this because film applications involve razor blades uncomfortably close to my paint. Thanks for sharing.

My only real critique of this specific look is my personal disgust at the painted support bars. I think this look is horrible and always wonder why people would accent such an item on their vehicles. It doesn't look racecar. It looks like a ghetto paint job where someone didn't bother to mask off the front section. Just my opinion.

Overall the truck looks hot though.

Its relatively inexpensive, compared to a good vinyl wrap. I was quoted between $5k and $6k for a comparable orange, with Autoflex I was able to color match BMW's Fire Orange color and it ran me $3500 and only 2 days to do. While the concept of liquid application is the same as Plastidip, its not the same product at all. Its a 4 stage process, tack coat, 2 base coat (in my case it was avalanche grey) because I was going over black factory color - then the 2 color coats, followed by Autoflex 2k OEM style clear coat. And yes it can be cut/buffed/polished/waxed/ceramic coated and its gas spill safe. You can also use a car wash as it self heals minor swirls in the sun. Lasts 6+ years and is 100% peel-able. Even feels like real paint. Its basically removable paint instead of a vinyl wrap. Most people cant tell its not factory. Installation requires no removing of any trim, bumpers, panels, lights etc like you have to do on vinyl. I'm an orange fanatic so all my cars have been orange and it may not be everyones cup of tea but with Autoflex you can literally make any color you can think of from solids, metallics and "frozen" mattes. Its truly the next level of wrapping and after 4 cars I'm still impressed every time I pick up my car from being done. I also did my wheels and calipers in Autoflex as well since its extremely durable and heat resistant.

Thanks for the shout out Marcus!!

I've had it on 3 years. Others have had it on for the same amount of time and had it removed. There's no adhesive, so no damage.
You inspired me to get it done out east. Have had it for 1.5 years and still looks like new paint.
That's flipping sick. Kudos my friend

@dv8pdx Any comments on the 'repairability' of Auto flex, for example if someone scrapes the corner of the front bumper in a parking lot?

Can it be repaired same way as a standard paint finish?

Depends on the installer. Mine just went to town with tape and the slight overspray gets peeled off of the line. Perfection would require some more disassembly but I'd say it's worth it if they're comfortable taking things off. Lights could stay on for sure

Just peel it off before you turn in, they probably wouldn't even notice the car is a different color if you bring it in for service lol

I am sure they'd prefer it over the car being tuned

Absolutely amazing! Such a beautiful color for this vehicle. And the craftsmanship is impecable.

Thoughts?
It looks great and love the color. But, when you open the door, doesn't look odd with two-tone color?
