I called my dealer's electronic shop and they recommended the Blackvue 900: https://www.blackvue.com/dr900s-2ch/
With a 64 card, the online price is $540 + installation fee of $150-250. Is the 750 adequate for someone who does not expect to post videos online? In order to get videos made when the car is parked, I suppose one use the car's Wifi to access the videos on my iPhone. What would AT&T charge me for one month of Wifi on the open road? So I just stumbled over blunder as I suppose the Wifi only works when the engine is running, right? Edited to say I wish I had seen this thread earlier, but the inconsistency of using subforums contributes to this confusion: https://g05.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1586693

I asked my dealer today how much installing the Advance Car Eye 2.0. They quoted an estimate of $524 for labor only.
Has anyone installed this camera themselves? Also looking at the Thinkware FA200 and Blackvue DR590W and doing the install myself. |

I saw your thread but DIY was something I did in early years with simple cars and not something I wish to take on these days. In another forum, an owner of this camcorder said that if I wanted better security by using the parking mode the reality was that all kinds of things could set off the motion detector from trees to passing cars. He said his approach was to "use time-lapse and G-sensor (records if dashcam records an impact) as a compromise." What is your experience with the parking mode? Edited to say I could not find that price on Amazon today with the 128.

BigSanj - sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I'm still trying to get to grips with it to be honest - initial findings are not good. Connectivity to the iPhone app is very very flaky (keeps dropping) when trying to view images. It also seems to be an art setting the sensitivity for the Radar and G sensors. Setting to the max sensitivity seems to quickly fill up your SD card. Also noted that when the SD Card is full you get a very annoying beep beep beep every 2 minutes ... an undocumented feature. I'm going to try it with an Android phone at the weekend and will report back.
