Acoustic Glass?
Curious who has acoustic glass and if you feel it makes a difference?
It costs $300 today. Apparently was $150 not long ago. Figured I'd skip it on our order. Spent far too much time thinking about it. Went back and added it to the order today. Searched, found one thread but not much info. |

Worth every penny, the car is incredibly quiet, even more so than stock. It's $300 on a $80k+ car so that's not enough to even worry about

I ordered it. I agree, $300 on a $75k+ car, chicken feed.

On that note the crystal accents are only $650 which is nothing for another nice piece of kit I know these all add up but $300 for acoustic glass is worth while

thanks for the replies.
It was added to our order before the post. I'll think it's quieter now. That will be worth it. The crystal shift knob is out of the question! Wife doesn't like it, I don't like it and it's her vehicle. No debate about that in our house! |

I was giving you a hard time I'm actually surprised some people don't like it, the whole thing is rather elegant but of course everyone has different styles and I respect that.

I have acoustic glass, and the car is amazingly quite. But I have not directly compared it to regular glass version.
I didn't have a particular preference for crystal controls but the alternative appeared to be rather "puny and uninspiring" in wife's opinion. Now I'm glad I have it, it adds a nice cosmetic touch. |

I was not interested in getting it based on pics and video reviews, but they do not do it justice. For me, it looks much better in person. Once I actually sat in a car with the glass controls, I realized how nice it really is and will definitely include it in my build. If you did see a real life sample, ignore the above. GG |

Didn't mean to stir everyone up.
We simply don't like the glass controls. I don't like furry seat covers either. However, I sure don't mind if someone else has them and loves them. |

My wife and I likes the sheep skin feel. Temperature has dropped down to the 30's lately. It even has snow on the hill top around SF Bay Area. With this, we haven't need to use the heated seat yet. It also works great in the summer keeping your butt and leg from burning hot seat that has been sitting under the California sunshine. So, it works for us and we like it ! |

This post indicates that you can check the glass by looking at the edge.
https://g05.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...5&postcount=17 Note the layering, which apparently is the acoustic factor. I haven't seen any other pics yet and can't get to my car now. |
