8.6 blackout! Hopefully it catches on, as ammo is only made by 1 company. But you can trim a 6.5 CM case and its just 338 Lapua bullets. I have all the pieces for my 8.6 build except the barrel, I'm cheap and don't buy anything except on really good deals.

We make the only brass for it right now for PCP/Gorilla. It's getting close to being made available to consumers though, so that should help. Availability of components can hold a cartridge back. Once we get our obligations to them fullfilled (2020 rush killed this) we will sell it for reloading.

I've thought about building a 6.5 cred or PRC. Not only will be better to reach farther, but ammo seems to always be available in store. Thought I do need to set up a bench to load my own, I just don't have room at my current house.
"set up a bench to load my own"

This is the way - once you roll your own, you will never go back.......

And for fun - I had to run the 458 SOCOM!!!

With a 1,000 zero - you'd be 45.6 FEET high at 560 yards to make it!!! LMAO For scale - that is 12.5 feet high at 100, so the moon shot is real.

Arrives at 1,000 at 657.41 FPS but still has 239.88 Ft/Lbs of energy with the 250 gr Hornady FTX

Same 3 oclock 10mph wind would push it 23.8 feet at 1,000 too.

When I ask my ammo guys they usually say I am the only one who asks. But a builder had a 8.6 on display recently which surprised me. Been seeing a bunch of builds posted so it is gaining some traction, think I got the 8.6 idea about 6m ago. Q is coming out with a setup so that will help. I need to order some from Gorilla, rare I don't have the caliber in stock before my build is done. People bring up the price per round, but I already have so many exp calibers, I think Gorilla 8.6 is cheaper than what I pay for 458 socom.

I really wish DW made an ambi safety for the compact. It's a nice little carry gun. We have a bunch in stock. Being a lefty I need the ambi.

I haven't taken mine apart yet, but I wonder if a regular 1911 ambi safety would fit.

It has been so long since I worked to maintain any semblance of skill with a handgun that target would still have a center if it was me.

But since I am recovering from hip replacement and can hobble around but NOT play golf....hmmmm. Maybe I should ride out to the range and play with my toys and work on some trigger skills.

Totally stoked with this one. Purchased a Christensen Arm Ridgeline FFT with a 16.5” barrel. Rifle on the left is a Steyr Model M .270 with a 22” barrel. Basicaly a standard deer rifle. The end result is an ultra light weight rifle that is shorter and lighter than standard with a suppressor.

Not sure if it's been mentioned over the last 327 pages, but the Beretta A300 Ultima Patrol is pretty great. I picked one up after debating between that and the 1301 for a NY-legal home defense option, going with the less expensive option. In truth, though, the A300 has a much broader loading port and some of the controls felt more intuitive to me.

I've only run a limited number of rounds through it (mostly to zero the RDS), but this shotgun is top notch. I'm not a shotgunner, so the complaints that it doesn't shoot as fast as the 1301 don't resonate with me. It shoots fast enough for me.

I like it enough that I may have to get one just to play with when I'm in AZ.

Beretta is a joke. I had a 1301 that would not cycle reliably. Sent it back to them TWICE & they claimed it was good yet nothing changed. I was promised a buy back if still no good prior to the 2nd return trip.

They quickly said they never told me that & refused to take their POS back. F that company

I have heard good and bad about the 1301s. I never bought one. My 25 year old Benelli M1 Super 90 is still kicking.

Daughter’s Shield Plus with manual safety came in today. The P09 I bought because it was on sale came in as well. This thing is a beast!

I have resisted many of the CZ deals this year, already have a Shadow2 which I love, but some of the deals are very hard to pass up.

I have a 1301 comp pro, which even after a year I have never shot I hope I like it when I finally get around to. Have a M4 tactical which is just awesome, wish some of the controls on the 1301 were on the M4.
