M Performance Steering Wheel

I have a 2022 BMW X6M. I’m wondering about options for performance steering wheels. The only thing I can find is the - Part #
32302459669 BMW M Performance Steering Wheel Cover - Carbon Fiber / Alcantara. This seem to be a cover placed on original steering wheel.

Anyone have any experience with this setup or any other?

Not sure if it's a cover over the entire steering wheel or some parts of it. Can't see how they could add a cover with alcantara without significantly impacting the thickness of the steering wheel.

Heating functionality is lost I believe.

I agree. I just can’t get an answer from the dealership. The picture doesn’t make sense. How can you add the Carbon fiber, Alcantara, and the Blue stripe without replacing the entire steering wheel.

I've come across those as well and it replaces the center portion of the steering wheel and around the buttons. There are a few different variants. Here are a few I've found. The IND one is the only one that shows just the center piece:

Carbon Fiber and Leather

This one works with heating:
Carbon Fiber and Leather

Carbon Fiber and Alcantara

These covers are only $495. The steering wheel replacements are over $2k. Hope this helps.

I would wait and install the new M4 steering wheel with the flat bottom that was announced for MY25 earlier today.

Lots of chatter on the G8x forum about the new steering wheel from pre LCI owners. Hopefully the new MGU5 headunit will accept.

I really want this thing to work on my LCI X5MC!! The stock wheel is just sad looking and I think this wheel would give the cabin a more sporty feel. I've done this on other vehicles and for those who doubt, it really does change the cabin feel. They've also shown a leather wrapped wheel for those who don't want Alcantara.

This m4 wheel looks dope. Looks like it is missing the heater on/off toggle, not sure how that will function for pre-lci builds but assuming LCI should be okay.

Heating steering wheel is controled via iDrive 8.5 screen, by the driver temp control/heated/vented seat control.

MY 25 M4’s just started production this month. I would expect the steering wheel to be available by the end of the month.
