Used to have this problem until I switched to an Apple cable. I was using a generic amazon cable and had constant disconnects with my ipod touch 6th gen.

With my G05 I didn't have it.

I had it in my F32. With the classic usb connection. It disconnected from my iPhone alle the time.

I think it was finally solved by putting the iPhone up to date. Some many try updating your iPod?

What software version are you on the car? I am running 11/2019.70 and ipod is stable though occasionally I still get the "Please wait" messages. iPod is 6th gen and running iOS 12.

Also trying removing the PIN code on your iPod if you have one configured. I know mine used to give a message that I need to unlock the device for the USB accessory to connect.

I tried everything with my latest gen ipod and couldn't get it to work. my old ipod classic didn't work either, which i wasn' surprised. i finally just downloaded my whole library to the HDD and everything works fine.

Good hint man. Will try that one out. I have a pin code set atm. Will try any adapter to make it work and ipod software is updated. Thanks
