Has anyone figured out how to get ANY coding done with the G05 yet? I have a list of things I would like to code in:

CarPlay is not activated since I am in Germany
Remote Start
Increased DRL brightness
Increased Laser Light brightness and anti-dazzle
Increased seat heating/cooling
change some things in my display

Im sure there will be more...

No one has replied to me on this. Let me know also if you find someone. I am thinking about Bimmercode. You?

I emailed the developer of Bimmercode last week, doesn't support G05 yet. And he isn't sure when it will.

I emailed him too. He thinks the ASS though would work regardless with his app

Is Bimmercode the only way to get this done? Are there other options? I am new to BMW so I apologize if this is a stupid question...

Not a stupid question. I never coded anything in my life. Just don’t want the ASS.

There are a few ways to do this.

Phone app is one - bimmercode and carly bmw are the 2 most use, it is great as it is easy and fairly fool proof, but will cost you a few bucks and they will take some time to be able to code a G05.

The other option is to use BMW factory software called Esys, it is a bit of a learning curve, you need windows, a cable, the factory E-sys software latest version and some software by a guy that goes by tokenmaster to get it to run and make it usable (that is 50 bucks I think to get). That setup can code a few things (I think 3 ecu's currently) with more hopefully to come soon.

Other option is remote coding by someone who will use Esys but ship you the cable and remotely control your laptop and code the car (once Esys is working).

If you guys want, I can do remote coding.
As this vehicle is fairly new, I don't have a list on what can be done.

But, what you will need is an Ethernet to OBD2 coding cable, PC laptop, and some softwares.

I have to ask, how much brighter could one possibly want the Laser Lights to be? 10,298 lumens isn't enough?

They're isolated to prevent manipulation even further than before now that they are designed to work as an Adaptive Driving Beam at moderate range rather than just an additional ultra long range supplemental high beam. Some people joke about it but they can cause retinal damage in as little as 10-50 seconds and shouldn't be treated haphazardly. I leaned the hard way after burning a hole in my right eye toying around with some salvage G12 Laser Lights in 15sec while standing 150m away from it.

The lasers are safe to look at since their diffuser through a phosphorus filter and do not produce harmful lightht while active. The US models have a hazard sticker because the FDA (yes FDA) is dumb and feels the need to label everything. I'd like the laser lights to work like they do in Europe and have an optional toggle to enable them or disable

Is there a way to code out the annoying iDrive and instrument panel from dimming so much?? It is so annoying.

Does anyone know if you can code the feature “advanced Bluetooth”. I didn’t get it, I’m not 100% sure what it does, but I heard it allows the passenger to be heard on Bluetooth phone calls?

Anyway, does anyone know a coder in Tucson or Phoenix?

I'm familiar with who approves what and why. "Safe to look at" is appropriate with specific details applied. It is not in a generic sense. I'm not sure what you mean by "to work like they do in Europe and have an optional toggle to enable them or disable".

It's a really bad idea at the moment to mess with the headlight coding on G05 and G15 as there is an Active Petition from BMW to receive an exemption to activate full functionality on 2,500 vehicles annually. Determination is due next month. Because of the fault codes associated with modifications to the Coding Data Integrity sent automatically via telematics, if it appears in 4/1000 units, this exemption would be denied before it even starts or revoked if it occurs after approval.

I've had Okee remote code my previous vehicles, including a free re-code after the dealer software update reset my coding. Great guy. However, I've contacted him about the new G05, and the only things currently available (that I requested) are:

15) Disable Seat Belt Chimes

17) Disable Auto Start/Stop (A.S.S) OR Code It To Last Memory Setting

25) Close Trunk From Key & Interior Button & Enable One Touch Close From Interior Button

36) Always Remember Seat Heating & Cooling Memory Upon Vehicle Start

Since I'm especially interested in the Euro version High Beam Assist/Anti Dazzle (I had this coded on my previous X5 - it's fantastic), I'm just going to wait until more options are available. It just takes time to figure them out.

I can vouch for Okee as well. Met him in person when he did my E70. He is as about as nice as they come - genuine good guy.

I’ve got him lined up to do the things that mbarrett lists, on my G05 and will have him do some updates once the coding community sorts through the G05 platform.

If you have a laptop that you can sit in your G05 with, within range of WiFi - and an ENET Cable... it’s as easy as scheduling a time wth him.

Thanks. Is there a point of me doing the coding bowl once I do a software update to fix the apps missing the coding would have to be redone?

Yes, worth doing now - reach out to codemycar.com/Okee (pronounced "OK"). They "guarantee" their work and provide follow-up coding in the event your car gets reset at the dealer and settings get erased, etc. He can let you know the costs and what it includes in terms of future coding work/updates.

Is coding burned into memory (I.e. can the dealer tell)? I'm wondering if I can get the HK EQ on my hifi system.
