Temperature: 33° F
Humidity: 82% Wind: Calm Altitude: ~ 700 feet Fuel: 93 octane (about 2/3 tank) Driver weight: 215 pounds Sport plus mode, S transmission mode My best time was 4.33s (4.10s w/ 1' rollout). Other run's were 4.41s (4.23s w/ 1' rollout) and 4.55s (4.36s w/ 1' rollout). Weirdly enough, I was using my "left foot" launch control for the two quicker times instead of BMW's actual launch control. I was hoping for low 4s and it delivered. |

What a beast. I was thinking BMW numbers were conservative. What’s more impressive is you are getting great launches consistently and with a lot of fuel(weight) in the tank. How many miles on your 50 and what size wheels??.

That’s outstanding with a fresh unbroken-in engine.
You will be faster when you get a bit more miles on the 4.4l TT. I bet at the 5k miles with under 1/4 tank of gas you may get below 4 seconds. I am gonna try with mine when the time comes. Thanks for the initial report. Very impressive. I would like to know the weight of each of the M-Sport wheels (20, 21, 22). I suspect the 20s will be the lightest but we need to weigh them. |

What app did you use to track the time?
And why do I suddenly want to watch the Fast and the Furious... :? |

Thank you for posting this! It beats my X3 M40i by . 1s without breaking a sweat. I'll run a 1/4 mile once I get mine and break it in. I think it'll do a 12.4-12.5s based on the outgoing gens times

My X5 50i M-Sport is due next week but my dealer had a very closely equipped 50i M-Sport to demo extensively. I own fast cars so I tend to be critical more than most. To start off, if you haven’t driven one hard, it’s a beast. It really is.
BMW magaged to take the excellent ZF 8 speed and make it even better and optimized it for seamless performance. There is no discernible turbo lag at all. 0-60 mph feels fast but even more impressive is the endless torque that keeps going. 60-110mph feels just as fast and solidly planted and it keeps going. 12.4 1/4 mile is doable for sure. |

My demo didn’t have DHP and it ran the twisties flat and in control. With speeds you will scare the crap out of your passengers. It feels like a 5 series sedan. No body roll noticeable. If the DHP is noticeably better, then BMW has set a new standard as the non DHP X5 50i was by far the best handling large SUV I have ever driven. The ride wasn’t rough either. The M exhaust sound is addictive and pushes you in to “loose you license ” territory before you know it.

I bet I can get it in the 4.1s to 4.2s range (not accounting for the rollout) with less gas. Close to empty would save 70 lbs. Also, forgot to take the car seats out of the back seat so that added another 35-40 lbs. I just can't see going much lower than that totally stock. |
