iDrive Display Issue

Hi all,

I was cleaning the car yesterday and wiped the iDrive display as well. Right after I noticed the car keeps clicking on different menus. At first, I thought it might be the trackpad but then I heard the touch clicks everytime something was popping up on the screen so I figured it's the iDrive display. It kept clicking on the menus and going back and forth. Have anyone experienced this before? Scared that it might be a hardware issue.

No need to scrub it, just wipe it.

You may want to try rebooting iDrive to see if that clears it out, if not, you probably need to take it in to the dealer.

You have have left some residue on the screen which is registering as a finger. Wipe it with a damp clean cloth.

Unless OP's wipe left a capacitive residue, I doubt it. Could be an issue with the capacitive touch interface. That's sandwiched between the top plastic and the LCD panel. In other words, new LCD.

Just wiped it gently with a damp cloth. It’s been fine after a restart as you suggested.

My point probably is that be careful with your displays!
