Vernasca leather vs Merino extended for an extra $1,000

Anyone have an opinion on the difference between the two? Is the Merino any softer or more comfortable? What about durability?

Merino is well worth the $1K upgrade. It's a major step up in leather quality, more comfortable than Vernasca and just as durable. You can visually and feel the difference in leather quality.

Vernasca is nice and it's improved quality over the older Dakota leather. I find that Vernasca/Dakota takes a long time to break in and feel comfortable.

Once you've spent hours on the road and years in BMW nappa or merino it's hard to go back. Your arse will thank you.

I was in the exactly same spot as you when ordering my car. I'm glad I called in to switch to extended merino last minute. You can't go wrong with either one, but I love touching the merino now.

I had Nappa on a previous F15, and the Merino feels a step up. It's definitely superior in comfort to the top quality luxury seats in my 2018 Q7, and seems to be more durable. Very glad I opted for it.

Merino all day long for sure. It is very much worth the $1000.

Well worth it. I love my seats. Like a cushion. Instantly noticeable. The contour seats are a must with the leather
