You gotta hold the button down for an extended period of time. Just punching the button won’t open or close the tailgate. Try that.

Held it down for like 5 seconds and it didn’t close. I guess I’ll hold down the key fob for a little longer to see if it closes the trunk

Closing the tailgate with the remote is not a standard feature, you need to use coding in order to have that function on the remote.

You're suppose to Pull and hold it UP. Not down. That's the confusing part. It's like closing your window. Up to close. Down to open.
