Picked up my 22s today on an x40i. I was going to trade them out but the ride is actually pretty nice on them. Going to get some winter wheels instead and keep these. Really like them, much better than I expected.

Has anyone tried the 22" rims with the 3rd row seats? It won't let you order them together with reason "ride comfort", but I can't image it's that bad. Would be curious to hear input for anyone who may have tried this.

The 20’s are out of the equation since they come with all season tires that would wore out very fast in Houston heat + I want those big tires on the back.
You don't have to use run-flats on any size wheel--- get the 21" and when the oem tires need to be replaced just get non-run-flat tires.

Tire wear depends on the specific tire, not all-season vs. Summer. High-performance (Summer) tires are probably going to wear faster than all-season.

Something to seriously consider is tire cost. Replacing all four 22" tires is going to cost well over $2,000. Replacing four 20" can be done for a bit over $1,000 using top-quality tires. I haven't priced 21".

22” was the best choice for me 100%. The air suspension perfectly balanced for the 22”; not harsh in any BMW tradition. Go for it if you likes the looks and care about having bigger wheels. It is a bargain to upgrade as a factory option. If you need something that will some you money in the long run, prefer all season tires or wheels doesn’t matter to you as long as they are round then opt for the 20”. They are good too.

39/45 psi seems awfully high for these 22" tires. Is that what everyone is using?

Here I come again asking about the wheels. I ordered an X5 40i with the 22 bi color 742M wheels with the air suspension. Right now I am driving an F16 with 20 wheels with the M Adaptive suspension. How will the ride on the G05 with 22's be compared to the F16 with 20's? Any feedback is greatly appreciated while I can still change my build. Also, what about the brakes, should I also go with the M Sport Brakes which are bigger and the bigger disks will look better on the big wheel compared to the standard brakes?

i ordered with 3rd row, opted for the 20" as they came w all season. figured i could pick up some 22" for summers if desired. dealer said the issue was around lack of a spare tire and unable to be run-flats [assume its a mandate that the vehicle either is equipped w a spare or run-flats]. dealer told me it was not possible to override the no-22" option

My 22" M 742M wheels and the protection product(Wheel Guard) I use to help with break dust. I can usually just hose off the break dust but once in a while I also wipe off with a soft cloth. I really like these wheels, but each his own.
Tires don't bother me regarding ride, but I do have Air Suspension option. Hope this helps.

I have no complaints on the ride of 22s; M50i with DHP, no air suspension. I'm never one for a soft and floaty ride and have a history of driven several M cars as my DD with stiffer suspensions.

I'm running 37-38 PSI in the fronts and about 40-41 in the rear. BMW recommends a higher PSI if you have more people but I usually have only one to two passengers riding with me. I'll run a full car only a handful of times during a given month.
