I'm sure I am jinxing myself...

Since 2007, I've replaced my run flats with non runflats as soon as I got a new vehicle that came with RFTs.

I've had exactly one flat tire in those 240,000 miles (I do 20K per year average) . It was in my driveway and BMW flatbedded me to their shop.

I'll take my chances with just a BMW flat tire kit and no spare.

(I'm sure I'll have my 2nd flat when I get to my car after work, but that's what I get for opening my big mouth ).

How did you get rid of your run flats? Sold them to who?

I flip flop between leasing and buying (my work gives me a nice allowance for lease but not to buy).

I just post on the regional forums here and always am able to get rid of tires easily

If it's a lease, I store the run-flats to return the car with and then give away the go-flats and snows at lease end.

If it's a buy, I sell the run flats for a very low price. There's always somebody looking for a deal on tires and I don't want to store them forever

So when it time for new tires you can ditch the runflats.

no dealer i know knows the size of the tire, and i don't see the availability of the kit just yet, either.

Good move ordering one.

We all should have gotten it. Or BMW should have an option to buy later for similar price.

For $150 I would like to have it seating in my basement in case i need to fix the wheel and on long trips would be nice to take with you in case of major tire fail.

We managed to order the rims and they came in from Germany, but no one at BMW can tell the tire size, so hopefully by Friday we can figure it out

Picked mine up today at the Performance Center. Spare is T155/80-R19. My car has the 20” M-sport standard wheels.

If you've ever had a massive blowout on a back road in WV, you would carry a spare. Ask me how I know. I ordered one on my car. It's a bargain for $150.

Style 740M?

Any shot you have a part number for the spare ? Is it 36-12-0-418-846 per chance?

740M wheels.

Here is a pic of the label on the spare tire assembly. Nothing that looks like a typical BMW part number that I recognize.

thanks m3bs and derek!

that conti looks like the cst17 that is widely available at tire rack and such. just a matter of getting the right wheel for it.

derek, is your spare secured in any way or is it just gravity that keeps it snug in there? just wondering what the aftermarket kit may eventually include beyond the foam insert

Bimmerzone currently listing a kit but pricey and probably includes a jack I’m guessing

I am in the market for a spare one too as I have had blowouts on our crappy Michigan roads.

FWIW I found this at Bavarian Autosport for 2019 G05 but it says its not been confirmed to fit.
