I've got 22" with air suspension and done 10,000 miles so far and have issues with the ride. I do 40,000 miles a year and have it in comfort setting on motorways and one of the sports modes on the twists and love it :-)

Could always buy the mobility kit for your 22" scenario and ditch the spare. That's what ppl do when they're tired of the run flats and swap them out with non-run flats.

It’s my opinion the choice is safety/convenience vs appearance. I like the look of the 22” but not incrementally more than the 21” to give up the cargo space and safety of run flats. |

The mobility kit is what safeguards against a flat in this case. It's essentially a air pump with a sealing agent to fill the hole in your tire. |

If so and with the tire removed, the cargo space may be the same but if under the floor it’s lost to me. If not, ordering 22” and ditching the spare solves cargo space concern but leaves me totally dependent on mobility kit. It better work. BTW, this strikes me as a lot of brain power being expended for a 1” wheel difference. I have no idea the wheel size on any of my previous cars. |

Perhaps he's confusing his X's as the X3 is the only model where the cargo floor is raised when optioned with a spare.

I don’t fault BMW personnel. I’m only focused on one trim line on one vehicle and I find it difficult. I find this site is a good source of reliable information. |

I agree the space below isn't super useful. Seems like a great place for a spare tire :-).
