Marina Bay Blue F95 X5M Competition with Xpel Stealth Satin Finish PPF
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com It took my detailer a little over a month to get it done completely. Besides Xpel, he also applied CQuartz Finest ceramic coating on the whole car and wheels. I got IND color-matched reflectors installed too. The gloss black trims are wrapped by regular Xpel Ultimate Plus, to provide a little contrast. Reason for it taking so long is because: 1) the detailer is only a 2-man team, and for whatever reason people all decided to get PPF on their cars during COVID-19; 2) the X5M being brand new, Xpel didn't have the correct pattern in their system. My guy only got template for the front and had to hand wrap the entire back side. The end result is amazing! It kept the "pop" in MBB color and added some depth with the satin finish and appears to be "bluer" in direct sunlight due to less reflection from the paint. I will let the pictures speak of themselves...

A couple more comments:
My detailer complained about it's super difficult to wrap the rear spoiler. He had to do two pieces (with a tiny seam in between) in the end. He also couldn't wrap the door handle in one piece. Ended up using black wrap instead.

That looks amazing. I could see that the pop is still there but more subtle. I prefer the gloss version but this is def. more unique on the road.

Yeah I like the MBB color as is too. The PPF is really just trying something different. I need to wrap the whole car anyway so figure I will give Stealth a try.

Thanks! I've read your post on your Frozen MBB M5 ED when I was debating matte vs gloss PPF. Really liked how muted and non-reflective Frozen MBB is! Helped me make the decision PPF ain't factory paint quality but I think the result is close to what I've imagined.

Second, thanks for making my life easier as this is exactly what I'm planning to do with mine and could never find someone who has done it to see how it actually looks on this car vs other cars like the M5. Absolutely amazing and now I can't wait for mine. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 |

Wow! That really looks fantastic! Nice build and beautiful job. I like both gloss and matte. I love how your car looks without the PITA dealing with matte paint and chips/resprays/washing

This is absolutely incredible! MBB is already a great color, and seeing a frozen variant through PPF really makes it come alive.
Could you let us know what this ended up costing? |

My detailer said he showed it to couple people and asked for their thoughts on the door handle, since it's not my original plan. Everyone liked it and thought that it should come in black from factory.

Total with tax a bit over $8K. Keep in mind I'm in a town where there's no competition. The next closest detailer is 2 hours away (and the quote was similar). I got a quote from a St. Louis shop for less than $6K for Xpel Ultimate Plus, but it's too far.
