BTW... HD DVD player is pretty cool, I watched King Kong for a few minutes and the clarity of the picture is amazing. I *think* since my TV is only 720 lines I'm not getting the most out of it either (doesn't it output 1080 or something?).

Anyway, it's well worth the $200 and it came with King Kong and a media center remote control that works much better than the xbox controller.

360 Can now output at 1080p (with latest dashboard update), as with the PS3. IMO 1080p looks better than 720p, but it's not the end of the world watching in 720p.

I think my tv might actually support 1080... I was going by its native resolution (I have it connected to a windows media center PC). I'll have to check.

Either way the HD DVD is as sharp as my eyes could possibly see.

Well you could go into your Xbox 360, goto settings, look for the HDTV settings and in Display Mode choose 1080p, if you select it and it works, then you can obviously display it, otherwise it won't work

Probably 1080i, then again Gears wouldn't display in 1080p anyway.

Only new Plasma, LCD and some DLP's are 1080p, and they're really expensive, we just picked up this one for the new place...

Panasonic 65" Plasma (TH-65PX600U)

It was expensive, but it certainly looks pretty

Nice nice, I like. </borat>

With a tv like that you really should pick up the HD dvd player for your xbox.

Already have a blu-ray in the ps3, and a standalone HD-DVD player as well, it really sucks having dual standards, can't we all just get along and save money in the process! grrr...

I agree. It would be one thing if there were two formats with movies available in both... but the fact that it's either one or the other is completely stupid.

Edit: Actually I see there are some common availabilities. I guess they are learning to get along.
