In other words, the engine is the only difference with the M50i. I'm glad that all first accounts say that the power bump is noticeable, otherwise it would effectively be the same car.
The launch thread states that the suspension has been modified and tuned by M GmbH for the M50i. And for 2020, DHP only available on M50i.

Not sure if 2019 xline 50i got m-sport exhaust, but I think 2019 m-sport 50i had it.
2019 50i when optioned with ZMP includes 1MA M Sport exhaust.

Do you have a VIN yet? Mine switched to status 150 Production Begins and a vin was assigned. Decoding my vin shows it has roof rails. Build date is showing 8/31 according to dealer.

Which site are you using to decode the VIN?

circling back about the roof rails

That’s not enough of a rebate. That’s a major styling cue omission. I could see many owners rejecting their orders for this. The whole reason to order is to get the exact vehicle you want. Then you wait and sweat that it doesn’t arrive damaged or with paint defects. Has there been a official reason for a lack of roof rails that has been around for a year now?? $250 rebate would be acceptable for missing floor mats at this level of vehicle.

It may be true that you would get a $250 credit for ordering a car without roof rails but no way are they going to be able to add them to your car for that price; if they could add them at all. I can't believe you could even buy the rails as parts for that price.

Later when you go to sell it you are going to have one of those X5's with no roof rails... any potential buyer is going to use that as a negotiating point against you.

For both reasons you should be getting a much bigger discount than $250.00

My guess is that the dealer is guessing that you won't refuse the car and wait for a new one to be built.

$250 is pretty low, MystroX5 is correct, that's more in line with floor mats. If you wanted to buy your own roof rails, you'd pay about $600 on sale for both then you would pay again to have them installed. I think its safe to think around a grand.

A more appropriate way to handle it would be to give a discount of around $600 plus a labor credit for installation in case someone wanted to buy them and have the dealer install.

$250 - what a joke! Agree you should be able to get close to $1000. At least negotiate free stuff like window tint, clear bra, floor mats, etc. of equivalent value.

The roof rails on the X3 are a $250 option - I'm guessing that's where the amount came from. They should be offering $1,000, though - or a new built car with a nice dealer loaner while you wait for it to be built.

Customer order cars they are probably dealing with them on a case by case. If its an inventory car then heres your $250 credit and off you go lol

This is a tough spot to be in. The very idea of a dealer dropping the headliner and drilling holes in the roof of a high end new car like the X5 is terrifying to say the least. I don’t know what the end game is with this issue? Anything else like a black grille swap, wheels, etc.. is a easy fix. I personally don’t let my dealer even wash or prep my cars when they come in for initial delivery or any service after. There is a big note on my file for this. When I just picked up my new M2C last month, there was a note on the windshield....”Do not wash or touch at all!”.

Absolutely amazing that this is happening. I have never heard of this kind of error from plant Munich or Dingolfing. In the back of my mind still wish they were made in Germany.

All kinds of things happened over the years in Munich. It’s human error or maybe a production issue or a supply issue. It’s not unique to the US, Mexico, Canada or any other country.

I don't know how you mix match panels and it passes QC, then again I've seen some questionable things over the years too

Remember there was a X5 with mismatched panels back in January on the forum.
