I only have 677 km on my car so far, so take these numbers with a grain of salt. So far, I'm averaging 12.8 l/100km, which is 22 mpg. The mix is about 50/50 city and highway, although the average speed was only about 30 km/h, so it included a lot of stop-start / very slow city driving.
It's also very cold in Toronto right now (-21 Celsius / -6 Fahrenheit this morning), so that will also be negatively affecting the fuel economy.

1300 miles so far, couple of longer drives, but mostly in medium to heavy traffic daily commute, getting 21.2 average since new. F15 was typically more like 17-18 once broken in.

Once I pick up my 50i I'm willing to bet highway will be 21 and city will be 12 while combined I'll get 18. Let's see how accurate this turns out to be

Picked mine up at the PC Thursday. Got an indicated 27.2 on the drive home, including some stop and go traffic. Pretty impressive for a big vehicle, if it’s real. Still showing close to 400 miles range, so it will be a while before I can verify it.

My wife and I are picking up in Spartanburg in two weeks. We are looking forward to the experience. Our drive home is a bit further. About 3000 miles. I will share my MPG on that cross-country trip. |

I believe my 50i has the highest mileage in the entire forum. Currently have 7.6 mpg on campus... I did a round trip from IL to as far as DC and the highway fuel economy was 19

I don't think its true since you will be getting 1600-2500 RPM variations anyway, it's not like on idle, plus I only use cars until the warranty expires at 50K and on top of that savings of only 55$/month over 50k miles 36 months not a major deal breaker for 31mpg vs 22mpg driving

That sounds very reasonable für that engine and vehicle weight. On my 335i (similar engine) I used to get about that same mileage (10,5 Liters per 100 km)

I’m close to 1500 miles and I’m mostly city driving but some highway and I’m nowhere near any of these numbers. I’m still getting around 14 mpg in my 40i.

Maybe mention it to the dealer and see what he/she says. I’ve been getting 20-22mpg city/hiway from day 1. I’ve used 89,91 and 93 octane too. I also drive mainly in adaptive but do drive in sport mode whenever I can when I’m on the highway and I’m still averaging 20-22 mpg.
