Just thought of something — I bet the snowstorm that hit the Carolinas probably isn’t helping things...

I-85N was nearly impassible around Kings Mountain over the weekend. Would certainly slow down trucks by a day or so.

until your build week comes up. Next Monday for week 51 it should flip to production begins.

I mentioned in another thread - I did call a Genius Saturday to see what was up with protracted visit to QC and he said "their are no holds on your vehicle, which is good - it's not unusual to stay in QC for this long." But - based on what I've seen with production in these forums - it's very long in comparison to others.

If your vehicle is in production, I wouldn't get too concerned about it - I've seen other builds go in/out of QC in a day during the time I've been held up there. You get what you get...

I'll keep updates coming - it's been an interesting process.
Finally switched over to Awaiting Carrier Assignment. Progress is good.

BMV - tell me you finally made the jump too brotha

I'm week 51 too and it's not week 51 yet so they're either wrong or BMW doesn't know what weeks mean

My experience (so far):

Production Begins for two weeks (11/19 to 12/3)
Entering Assembly Line for less than 12 hours (12/3 to 12/4)
Quality Check for 6.5 days (12/4 to 12/10)

Based on what I've seen, my QC time was way abnormal. Most are in/out in under a day. I'm guessing there was a parts shortage of some sort for a specific feature or trim as a few others experienced this same QC time with me, while other week 48ers breezed through QC during that time.

Not exactly....

Originally a week 48 with an 11/30 production date that was bumped to 12/4. Factory seems to be a bit behind. Most our week 48 team mates made it across the line in week 49. But a few stragglers ended up in week 50. Me included. Quality Check killed our momentum.

I know, not great news. I think week 49ers are also largely behind by at least a week.

Not sure if it is a different system in the UK but my week 50 is now "5055, Confirmed by Product Control" - which I think means it should start production any minute?

Cool. It does sound like they are getting the furnace heated for your car :-) going by the codes here

Where you able to get the VIN number?

That is a very helpful link, thank you.

I have a "VIN Prefix", together with a "Chassis", neither of which I did not have before.

I think in the UK we can only get information from our dealers though?

My week 49 had a completion date of 12/11 and just today moved to entering assembly line.Hope that gives some of you an idea of timing. It sat with a vin for a couple of weeks.

My week 51 has moved from scheduled to confirmed by production control :-). The Genius now thinks it will actually land at the dealer in UK by the second week of Jan a full month ahead of schedule. I somehow doubt that will happen
