Yep, I got a decent discount based on taking an available build slot for March delivery.

What I'm still not clear on is if the Driving Assistant Pro will come with the extended (hands off) TJA for that build date. Test drove one at the dealers which had the internal camera, and it required occasional hands-on, but I didn't get chance to test it on a motorway below 37mph.

I guess as the camera will be supplied regardless, it should be possible to enable it via a software update either at the dealers or OTA.
Would you mind sharing what sort of percentage discount you got? I ran a carwow quote earlier this week for a 40i and got next to nothing off

Lots of nearly new GO5'S on sale on BMW website, from about £65000.

PM sent. My standard approach is to get the best UK broker price, and ask local dealers to price match.

Ordered M50d, all options, at Park Lane in September 2018 (!). Still no confirmed build date
I´m desperate. Anyone in a similar situation?

Surely the dealer should be able to give you a build date when you order as they book a slot with the manufacturer when they have an order. A lot of dealers have build slots booked and then amend the car to customer specifications when ordered.

Even more so when the dealer in question is actually owned by BMW-GB.....

Sorry, forgot to mention: I ordered a LHD, that might be a bit more tricky... but still after 18 weeks no build slot?

May be an issue but they should still be able to tell you when planned!.

Park Lane has no reason to sell cars since they have loads of people coming to them. Give Josh at BMW North Oxford a call and he will sort you out. I also live in central london and managed to get a slot for week 7 having placed an order about 2 weeks ago.

40i Arctic Grey

Really happy with my new X5 40i Arctic Grey M Sport - 22" wheels, head-up / HK speakers. Petrol engine so smooth compared to diesel (previously had a 40D F15) - up early tomorrow for a drive! Will post pics tomorrow

Is anyone getting a ceramic coat and/or PPF done ? I have refused the autoglym from the dealer and thinking about getting a ceramic coat (gtechniq) done. Have been quoted £1500 for paint, wheels and interior on the ceramic. PPF seems to be in the range of £3500 for full body. Any one else have had this done at better prices, more so with very good end results.

Your prices sound about right. Havn't decided what I am going to do yet but might just do ppf on all the sensitive areas.

MPG hasn't been a priority let's say!! prob around 22. the engine is silky smooth and its addictive to drive hard, esp in sport-individual mode. it pulls really well for a big car and the auto box is slick, so driving is a real pleasure around town and on motorways and on b roads. seriously impressed with it!

How does the engine compare with your previous 40d. Obviously more refined, I guess, does it feel effortless or is there any lack of torque?

I have a 440i. Test drove a X3 30d a few weeks back and was staggered by the lack of refinement and was also surprised that I felt a real lack of urge and performance. I had expected a relatively torquey 30d to feel on par with my 40i on effortless pull below 3k rpm.

All of which has encouraged me to think that the 40i may be a brilliant engine in the X5, especially as it's in a more powerful state of tune than the 440i.

I have tried GVE London and Elite car car in Maidenhead and both have come back with similar numbers. Did you get Gtechniq as well?
