Strange. I downloaded a .pdf-manual of the G05 and according to that, the second row slides forward/backwards AND reclines backwards and moves the back part forwards.

It could be that you first have to slide the 2nd row forward before you can actually recline it - maybe somebody can chime in on that one.

The manual, however, shows controllers that slide forwards/backwards and recline/move the back forwards and a "reset" button that brings the second row back to a "standard" position.

Wow, so they simply disabled that function listed in the manual?

Interesting.

If that's the case, I'm really curious why so many people claim that the backrest does not recline at all. I can't imagine they disabled this feature for the U.S..

Maybe they don't recline unless the seat itself was moved a bit to the front before you try to recline?

Hopefully, the power second row seats will be a stand-alone option in the future. I'm eyeballing the new hybrid model and since there will be no 3rd row on that, I'm hoping they can at least offer the electric feature on the second row.

Is it correct that the 2nd seat can slide and recline only if you have the 3rd seat option. Without it, the 2nd seat is stationary and will not recline. Is this correct?

I'm showing production begins on the site with a VIN and the automated line says production is due to be completed March 2nd. Maybe there are a lot of third row orders in queue.

They really should make 2nd row reclinable regardless of whether it has 3rd row or not, even a manual level will be 50 times better than stationary.

Traitor!

I agree with the above that it should be manually slideable in all circumstances.

Frustrating indeed. I called up bmw genius as well today, and they indicated first week of April production for my build. My order was placed 3rd week of Jan.
