2014 X5 35d. I've been driving X5's since 2009. This is my fourth. Each one gets better and better.

Just got the G05 xDrive40i Phytonic Blue. Came from 2016 X5 xDrive35i and before that 2013 X5 xDrive35i.

Been an X5 junkie since moving from a 2011 Honda Accord EXL.

Great thread!

I got rid of a vehicle that I swore I never would (how many times have we said that ). I had in my opinion the perfect Land Rover. 2016 LR4 with heavy duty package and black package.

The problem was that the interior design and technology was the exact same as when the LR4 rolled out in 2009. It wasn't so bad when I bought it in 2015 but when you compare it to just about any SUV made in 2019 it left a lot to be desired.

I'm doing less off-road for a little while so the LR4's utility was no longer addressing my primary need...enter the G05.

Anyway, here's to an incredibly sexy and capable vehicle:

We're trading our 2011 Acura MDX which is my wife's daily. She has been a fantastic car but is starting to show her age and given that I recently started towing my S2000 it's harder on an aging car with over 100,000 miles. My wife was somewhat reluctant to make a move but she fell in love with the new X5.

Don't have photo but giving up my 100k+ mile CR-V. Driven that car really hard for last 4 years but it never left me stranded. Would've gone for Honda again but wanted to try something nice in life

Thumbs up

The very popular 2013 Lexus RX350, front windows tint in Llumar Formula One Pinnacle ceramic which has been "too cool". Has been a very comfortable and fast car with absolutely no problems at 60K miles. Was very reasonably priced. Ventilated/heated saddle leather seats, wood trim, great legroom, towing package, Premium pack....the works. Unlike some German cars <cough> Audi, it has great console storage space! Notice the coffee (beer) cup holder on the left....lots of cool features.

This SUV is so common, so popular in my area that I have mistaken others for mine as I tried to get into the someone's else's at a shopping center, sometimes parked next to mine!

Ah, that's a lovely LR4 (Discovery over here). Shame they made such a mess of the replacement - how is that perceived in the US?

Absolutely love the LR4, and your red / black trim combo looks fantastic. It's such a timeless design, far better looking than the new Disco, and the 2014+ models really improved on what was already great (with the exception that the 5.0 V8 probably suits the vehicle more than the 3.0 SC 6). I flirted with the idea of one of the few mint, low mileage 2016s with the heavy duty package I could find, but as you say the interior tech. feels extremely dated now, particularly the tiny, low res screen. I looked at a new Disco, but couldn't get over the looks.

Miss the awesomeness of pre-heating the car / seats / steering wheel, instant torque, and never having to go to a gas station. Don't miss the cheap and dated interior, road and wind noise, frozen door seals and mirrors, or lack of critical perspective from Tesla fanboys!
