New Member, 1st Post, New Order.

Hello, placed my order for a 3.0D M Sport in Phytonic Blue with 22" 742 wheels and privacy glass. And that’s about it really.

I’m getting a delivery quoted of wc 23/04/19, having placed the order 2nd week in Feb. Like many, the wait is killing me!

I have a vin number and was wondering if I’m able to track delivery like some appear to be able to from the UK?

Thanks.

I don’t think we can track build/order in UK, but happy to be proved wrong

Here you go, this will be a bit more welcoming and helpful to you than to just scold you for not searching

There's more out there, but this will get you started....

There are a number of ways to tack an order once you have a production number - depending on what stage it's in:

1) Website - register and then use your build number to register/add your vehicle to "My Garage". Once you reach the "production begins" step, this site gives you your VIN and gives you your "current" status (which seems to not be current): https://securelogin.bmwusa.com/login?

2) Automated line - gets you similar info that the website can, but tells you your vehicle's expected completion day once you are in production: 800-831-1117 (Stay on the line and when the robot-voice asks you to tell it the reason for the call, say "vehicle production status". Say your production order number or partial VIN and it should tell you the estimated completion date).

3) BMW Genius - talk to a person...good for the most accurate current build week and current status but they never relayed the expected completion date. Call, get a human, provide build number - ask for your build's current status: 844-443-6487

Thanks, I tried the search function with a few keywords but couldn’t find anything.

I’ll have a look now.

I’ve logged into the lonk and it keeps saying there is a problem with the page.

Don’t know if it’s temporary or because I’m trying to log in from the UK.

I've been around a long time, and I am still not very good at using Search, so don't feel bad, you're not alone.

When I've had BMWs built in Germany, I was able to track it through production, onto a ship, across the ocean and to my dealership. It was pretty exciting. I can't imagine that you can't do the reverse being that it's built in USA and needs to travel to you. Maybe try reaching out to you SA and seeing if there's a different website for UK.

I’ve got a screenshot from the dealer’s order page but I’m not sure which number to use.

I’ve tried dealer order no and ag order no, but neither are recognised. The vin number is only partial.

Any ideas?

The VIN number shows the last 7 digits, the VIN prefix is also shown, put the two together to get full VIN

Contact your CA, they should have either a production number or full VIN.

I ordered mine through Cooper Teeside. It is a bit out of the way from South Bucks but they were by far the cheapest

Just an update on this. It appears you cannot track production in the UK, but I have a question:

With mine being a UK order, will my car come from Germany or the US?

Seems a daft question, I'd assumed it would come from Germany but I'm not sure.

All X5's are built in the US so I would assume it would ship straight to the UK.

You are right you can’t track easily from the UK. You can only ask your dealer or the bmw live chat in the build section of the bmw website. They are pretty helpful and will tell you what status code you are at. As for tracking after it’s departed the plant then it’s a bit of guess work. Mine stayed at 9000 for ages. You can sort of predict its arrival by looking at ships coming from chareleston in the US to Southampton via nordics and zeebrugge. It will give you an estimated date of arrival in the UK. You then need to add 7 days for pre delivery and delivery to your dealer. Mine arrived in Southampton this afternoon as confirmed by the dealer.

Mine was only built 2 weeks before you and had an estimated delivery of week 15 so it’s early. Wouldnt surprise me if yours is either on the same boat as mine or on the next one. Your dealer should be able to check.

Good luck.

I just tried the online chat facility who were very helpful. Telling me the car has left the production facility and is now on it's way.

However, they are now quoting a delivery date of 6th May! I don't know if it's policy to give customers a longer date than the screen is showing, but I'm hoping it is!

I have had just the same. Dealer said that I should receive the car end of week 16 and online says end of week 18.

I am hoping for the earlier one.

Once it leaves the plant at 9000 the system always seems to say +7 weeks until it gets to 9605 or 9610 at Bremerhaven then it will jump forward. Mine went from week 16 to week 17 to week 18 then jumped forward to week 14 at status 9610
