This is interesting. I have the same issue. Cant pin point the location but seems as if its around the rear view mirror area. If anyone takes it into service please post update.

Could be an issue with the seal of the windscreen?

Have You got a sun roof? A few days ago I was at a dealership in a different case, but I also reported whistle issues above 200 km / h. They said that they had already met with this problem, the issue of some too high seal in the roof. They told me that they improved something, for now there is no whistling ...

I had a similar issue with my 2014 F30 when reaching certain RPMs or throttling on/off accelerator.

Here was the fix for that issue. At the time I never would have guessed it was a resonating hose.

Hope this helps guide you to a fix.

Yesterday I was driving along the highway at a speed of about 190 km / h. unfortunately, the problem appeared again, so the dealer’s actions did not bring anything. Has anyone found a solution?

Mine sounds like this:

Holy cow, I thought I was the only one having this problem. I reported this to my dealer on the last march but they told me they can't reproduce it. At that time i was concerned about my KAFAS camera issue so i didn't take too seriously.I used to hear the noise above >140KM/hr

Mine sounds like this:

Wow, that's annoying.

Try turning off the ventilation system and switch the vent box to floor vents and see if it changes the sound at all.

Solution? Windshield defective pasting

Hello,

on the German forum there was an information that the cause is a defective pasting of the windshield - after the exchange and re-gluing, already at the dealer ("manually" and not by the "robot" in Spartanburg), the problem disappears.
I forwarded the info to the dealer, I am waiting for a reply.
Maybe you also can give it to Yours dealers - maybe the solution will be confirmed.

If I ever had the opportunity to drive 200km/h I would have flashing lights behind me. Technically, 120km/h (75mph) is the highest "legal" limit that I have come across here

Same problem

I also have same issue, whistling but at lower speed of more than 80 km/h but its random.

Tried closing all the windows but still no luck, mostly occurs on motorways where there are side walls. Haven't noticed on open motorway so far.

As I mentioned earlier I do get whistling noise above 120K I reported to the dealer around March but they told me they can't replicate (obviously). Few weeks before I applied seal protectant on the door seal and I don't hear those whistle noise so far. Not sure that fixed it or not

The problem seems to have been diagnosed and solved. The day before yesterday I picked up my car after visiting a dealer. The windshield was reinstalled. I drove until 205 km / h and so far everything was ok - silence ... So it was confirmed - the problem is the wrongly mounted (too high) windshield.

Hi everyone! This is my first post at Bimmers.
This thread has helped me solve the same exact issue I had with my brand new X5 30d (june 2019). The whistle noise heard in your videos on youtube sound exactly the same!
Though it sounds like coming from the sunroof...it does not!!! As JacekPL mentioned, it comes from the windshield! But no need to replace it. The "issue" is the rubber/plastic in the transition from the bonet in the bottom part of the windshield that is not correctly adjusted to the windshield... On the side where I noticed the whistle coming from, the rubber was not properly mounted/fitted... looking as if in the production line the assembly was not properly done. So i just pressed a bit against the windshield from inside the bonet and it adjusted perfectly! No more noise at highspeed!
Unfortunately, I only have a photo of it fixed... hope it helps other people with the same problem.
Best regards!!

Can you circle the area in your picture or point to the area that you pressed on to fix the issue?
